Dr. Peter Alan Fields, MD

I saw Dr. Field's regarding PRP shots in my hip that is causing pain. To be honest, he's one of the absolute worst doctors I've ever met. First of all, you wait over an hour (even though there is hardly anyone there!) Then if you dare ask any questions, you are brushed off, or he gets defensive. I asked what the efficacy rate is and he got defensive. I asked him if he uses an ultrasound to guide the needles (most do) and he defensively replied "if they use that they don't know anatomy." Actually standard of care states that some guidance should be used lest you nick a nerve or something more serious and cause more of a problem than you started with. He would not meet my eyes and likes to repeat over and over his little sales pitches like "the clock only goes one direction so your condition will only get worse" or "cortisone will damage you" over and over to scare you. I've never had a worse gut feeling in a medical office in my life. He won't discuss specifics, doesn't know how to read… an MRI (which is why they freak out if you only bring a disc and not the written report), and has no desire to really discuss the treatments. He's too busy selling them. Oh and you pay UP FRONT before you ever get there! What doctor does that? I've never even heard of that. And if you cancel? He charges a "restocking" fee!!! What is he, Target? What exactly is he "restocking"?? I am very open to PRP and will most likely try it, but with someone else. The treatments he offers aren't the problem - it's him.
