Dr. Peter Bryson Hines, MD

I went to north Austin Medical Center because I was in a lot of pain, the doctor emergency doctor recommended for me to see Doctor Hines as soon as possible and actually called him personally. When I called and try to make an appointment doctor Hines would not see me. I do not understand why. I have been seeing him for over 8 years. I thought we had a patient relationship. I also spoke with his nurse and she said "I cannot make Dr. Hines see you." One of my doctors to me to seat in his waiting room, until he saw me. His office staff said, "They would through me out of the office". I tried for over 2 weeks to see him. They could have referred me to another doctor in his practice. I could not believe it, Dr. Hines, and his office would so that! Why would a medical doctor do that? If you're looking for a good nephrologist, I would not recommend Dr. Hines.

Dr. Hines was very helpful in explaining and helping me understand the information he was relaying regarding my brother-in-law. He asked my opinion on some matters and let me decide what was best for Don. A very caring doctor.

Dr. Hines is highly knowledgeable and listens. He provided pertinent information regarding my healthcare issues and cared that I maintain optimal health.

Dr. Hines is very easy to talk with. He is very courteous, knowledgeable, emphatic, and interested in keeping you well. He is my favorite of all the doctor's I see.

I am a dialysis patient and would highly recommend Dr. Hines for kidney monitoring and treatment. He is patient, listens well, and provides explanations in as detailed and logical manner as you can handle. Our problem solving sessions have always ended up with a practical solution. He's the best!

appointments are 3 months from when you call. difficult to reach between appointments. i do not recommend this doctor. there are plenty of other nephrologists in the austin area that are easier to see.

I was misdiagnosed and told I would need a kidney transplant WRONG

This guy once got so happy because I told her the way to make sure her mom stayed asleep was to put a pillow between her knees plus he was never a real ping pong player.

I received a kidney transplant in 1988 and have seen numerous nephrologists in the Austin area. Dr. Peter Hines is by far the most caring, comprehensive, professional, knowledgeable nephrologist I've seen so far. I'm very picky when it comes to my transplanted kidney, and so is he!!! Office staff is very friendly as well.
