Dr. Peter Smith Hotvedt, MD

I was diagnosed with Afib several years ago, as an ER patient. Lucky for me, Dr Hotvedt was in the Hospital that morning (Oneida, NY). He spent time with me, explaining Atrial Fibrillation. He is one of several Cardiologists in his Office. I always specify that I want my appointments with him. If I need to drive an hour away, to see him in his other Office, I do it, because I know he will spend time with me. He answers ALL my questions, and I walk away satisfied.

I found dr. Hotvedt very combatative, demeaning, and unable to answer questions. His knowledge was minimal about the probelms I presented, but he answered with authority. He dismissed my questions, and me, as a person. I felt belittled, imtimidated and not listened to. I have since seen my GP and my surgeon who have both listened, answered my questions competently, and given me help so that I am moving in the right direction for a healthy future.
