Dr. Peter James Irwin, MD

Dr.Irwin delivered my son 5 days ago & throughout my whole pregnancy he has been the best .He has the best personality,is very patient and answers all questions without making you feel rushed.I felt comfortable being myself around him and never felt like my needs weren't being met.Another plus is he always saw me on time and sometimes even earlier.His whole staff is very professional and sweet and welcoming.I am very very pleased with my whole experience.He delivered my son via c section and did an awesome job! He is definitely the obstetrician I recommend.

Only bad thing about his office is that he doesn't accept many different insurance providers. He explained to me that if the hospital doesn't accept them, then he can't admit you for labor and delivery. I have a PPO that he accepts. He has always taken the time to answer any questions me or my husband had about our first pregnancy. He also gave me a referral for a high risk doctor because I was concerned about passing down a birth defect I had. Records sharing is easy, because I am seeing several specialists throughout my pregnancy. I have been seeing him for 7 years. He does have a new nurse that doesn't seem as knowledgeable as his last one that recently retired. Not too fond of the male sonographer, somewhat short and rude. Staff is professional easy to make appointments with, and has reasonable office hours for someone working 9-5. Wait time can be 20 minutes for seeing Dr. Irwin, but on days the sonographer is there for sono only appointments, they scheduled several… appointments back to back and you might have to wait a little longer.

Dr. Irwin is personable and courteous, very easy to talk to with a pleasant personality.. ð???

First time I met Dr. Irwin was when we just moved to the area and a co-worker recommended him. Dr Irwin treated me as if I was a long lost friend. What a terrible, intelligent, and compassionate physician! It's been 15 years since that first visit and I couldn't be happier with a doctor!

physician is arrogant and will not listen to you as a patient, He puts his ego before your care. great office staff...

Dr. Irwin has delivered both of my children him and his staff are awesome they make you feel very comforable.

I saw Dr Irwin for years, and loved him as a regular gyn. Then I became pregnant with twins. At first things went along ok, but in hind sight my care was less than perfect. I developed high blood pressure. I had major swelling and pelvic pain towards the end. He told me I was gaining too much, though it was clear I was retaining more fluid than is normal. Like I said I was carrying twins, first pregnancy, high blood pressure and I was obese to begin with, and I was never referred to high risk specialist. He had me convinced the only safe way to deliver the twins was through c-section. When I went into premature labor at 31weeks, the dr on call suggested vaginal birth, but bc Dr Irwin was so adamantly against it, I said I needed a c-section. The birth was rough resulting in a second incision made on my uterus. I now have a "t" scar and will never be able to try for a vaginal birth, ever. Every time I called with a concern it was normal, but there was nothing normal about it. My kids… were born 9weeks early, and I don't feel I was being cared for as well as I should have been. I've spoken to several other twin moms who had no other complications and were rendered to high risk specialists, put on bed rest and monitored more closely than I was. I don't recommend him.

I have been under Dr. Irwin's care for over 15 years and he has always been professional and compassionate with a great bedside manner. I see him annually for a well visit. I highly recommend him as a GYN. I do not have any personal experience with his Ob skill set but fully intend to stay under his care if I get pregnant so that he can help me bring a new life into this world ;-)
