Dr. Peter Wolfe Kaplan, MD

The residences that I saw at Hopkins were very nice, but Dr Kaplan was dismissive and not helpful. I came to Hopkins with many symptoms that I needed help figuring out. The only test that was ordered was an MRI. I was asked if I had labs done(not what labs or when). He asked how much I weighed in high school and told me that if he could give me 3 million dollars so that I could quit my job and I could focus on my diet and exercise, all of my issues would go away. I am slightly overweight and work out every day. He also saw that I was taking Protonix but did not ask for what purpose and told me that I needed to stop taking it and “just take tums”. I am taking it for a bleeding ulcer, but he wouldn’t know that unless he asked. Overall I left after 2 visits feeling belittled and as if I was making everything up. Hopkins is supposed to have some of the best physicians and I was very disappointed. Just had a second opinion with another neurologist and she is doing many tests to help me try… to figure things out. That is all that I wanted; to be treated with compassion and to feel heard.

Dr Kaplan seemed very unconcerned with what was going on with my issues. He would ask me to describe what was going on then would stop me half way to ask me my name and then look up my file to read who I was. He then very short and vague when answering my questions. He ordered an MRI which was done incorrectly and took over three weeks for him to fix resubmit the order. I then had to wait three more weeks to actually get the MRI. His office is also very unprofessional. The receptionist rarely picks up the phone and when you leave a message she’s rarely cals back. I’m very disappointed and will be switching doctors as soon as my tests are completed.

This person Kaplan been my disabled son doctor 7 months never touched him or help him mean doesn’t care about disabled won’t even call check on patients in hospital a month I’m disappointed hope u don’t use him.

-very nice man-felt as though he was overwhelmed-did not take the time, his secretary did more then he did.-wait time to get in clinic was absurd-would had much rather had an office atmosphere-
