Dr. Peter Koranyi

prior to this experience, i loved morristown memorial hospital. (now morristown medical center) the staff are genuinely caring and very knowlegeable. however, when i went there to deliver my 2nd baby, i had the displeasure of having dr peter koranyi as my anesthesiologist to administer my epidural. as soon as it started, my hands became so weak i couldn't use my phone. but of course my legs and everthing below were not in the least bit numbed. the nurse gets dr koranyi back to assess...but of course he was too busy to come and just told her to give me another bolus of the anesthesia ...hoping to shut me up. but it only made me even weaker above the waist and i was so weak i couldn't get enough energy to speak loud enough for them to hear that i could still feel everything below the waist. talk about frightening. (but it did seem to shut me up since they couldn't hear me!) after it was all over, dr koranyi shows up to tell me that it was very unusual for me to have that reaction and… attributed it to my 'sensitivity' to the anesthsia. which totally doesn't explain why my 1st delivery 2 years ago went beautifully and the epidural was nothing short of a miracle. of course, then i received a huge bill from him a month later, and when i tried to contest the charges, he sent his lawyer after me threatening to sue me and ruin my otherwise perfect credit. lovely experience. i will NEVER return to MMH for anything involving anethesia out of fear of ever ending up with this monster again....i hate writing bad reviews... but this is really more of a warning to anyone who may be considering using MMH to deliver a baby and considering getting an epidural. ...maybe you still can go there.. i do like the hospital otherwise, but if you see Peter Koranyi walking into your room, RUN... and if you can't run.. at least kick him out of your room! :)hope this helps at least one person out there!!
