Dr. Peter Lee, MD

I went to my appointment to see Dr. Lee to talk about my coming spinal surgery. Well, when I arrived, I found out that he wasn't there. I was told by his staff that he was called away to perform "emergency" surgery. Ordinarily, I would have gone along with this and just rescheduled a new appointment without even thinking about it. But, because members of his staff had been extremely rude to me on past occasions, I have become aware of an overall bad attitude that this practice has toward it's patients and asked, "How does something like this happen?". The person I was speaking to went away for about 10 minutes and then two nurses from Dr. Lee's staff came back and said that they contacted Dr. Lee during his "emergency" surgery and asked him if he could see me later in the day. They told me he said no. However, what I would have found alarming if I believed it, is that according to his staff, as Dr. Lee was performing his "emergency" neurosurgery he allowed someone from outside… the operating room to interrupt him during that surgery to ask a question about a missed appointment. This is what they actually told me! When I expressed disbelief and incredulity about the fact that he would allow such an interruption during "emergency" neurosurgery, they told me "Oh, that's not unusual at all, it happens all the time. There's even a desk outside the operating room for the purpose of relaying messages to the doctor". Now, I don't really know what procedures are allowed during "emergency" neurosurgery but I just can't believe that any doctor would allow such an interruption during emergency surgery. Especially not during emergency neurosurgery. If this were actually true, and I really can't believe that this sort of interruption is actually allowed, I would definitely not want to be the patient on the operating table. Therefore, I have drawn the conclusion that I was just plain blown off by the doctor and as a result am unhappy with good reason. I told Dr. Lee's staff of my unhappiness, not only about being blown off by the doctor, but also about the extreme rudeness the staff has had toward me in my past encounters with them. I am posting this review for the purpose of warning others of their behavior.

Dr. Lee was thoughtful and easy to talk to. Successful outcome, pain is gone.
