Dr. Peter Christopher Lim, MD

My wife was diagnosed with uterine cancer and after not hearing back from our local referral we decided to ask around and found that the best is Dr Lim in Reno, NV. we where able to get an appointment so we drove from Sacramento to Reno to see Dr Lim and i would drive farther if i needed to for his services. Dr Lim is good at what he does and if when you first meet him he seems a little arrogant or laser focused on the issue he is and that fine. Dr Lim was able to get us set for surgery quick and the day of he sat with us and calmed us down, you could sense by the time he spent with us that he truly cared and when the surgery was over he personally talked with me and brought me back to my wife. I truly feel Dr Lim is The BEST

Dr. Peter C. Lim is the only gynecological oncologist in Reno, thus I was referred to him when my regular gynecologist suspected cancer. Thankfully, he is an excellent surgeon with wonderful bedside manner. Yes, there is definitely a wait in his office, and the reward is that he answers all your questions and spends as much time with you as you need. I have never been to a doctor's office without a wait, but with other doctors I don't get this kind of personal attention. I was terrified of surgery, but after meeting him, I had confidence in his skill, which turned out to be well-placed. After major open surgery which required a hospital stay, I was ecstatic to discover that I do not have cancer. Therefore I don't know what it is like to have cancer treatment with Dr. Lim. The surgery went very well with no complications. He visited me in the hospital the next day to check on me. After that, I've had follow ups with his PA who is also wonderful. Unfortunately, his office staff are… horrid. Gina the office manager sets a bad example for the rest of the office staff. From the smaller yet still important things like the staff saying their name when answering the phone (they usually don't), to hearing mine (they don't pay attention and I have to repeat my name at least two times, often three, every time I call), to the larger things like being friendly and helpful, they almost completely fail. Gina also does passive-aggressive things like call other patients pet names in front of me, perhaps to demonstrate that she thinks I'm the problem rather than she. Hopefully, the billing process will be better than the customer service process. The 5 score is for Dr. Lim and the other clinical staff. The office staff I would give a 1. However, I would MUCH rather have a fine surgeon and crappy office staff than the reverse.

My mother had dementia and could not write this evaluation. As her son, I was present for every visit with Lim. He is an arrogant man, who is not interested in his patients in the slightest. I remember how he admired his surgical handiwork, utterly unconcerned with the patient he operated on (he never learned my mother's name or figured out she had dementia). This had a number of negative consequences. He leaves everything to the last minute, because that suits his own schedule, resulting in unnecessary medical treatment in my mother's case because he didn't look at lab results until the day before her procedure. He is also mercurial as any diva, throwing a fit when lab results are late. Also, his treatment is old fashioned and surgically focused, failing to offer a particular chemotherapy which ultimately extended my mothers life by at least 6 months. As my mother's GP said, he's "the surgery guy". In short, a tool.

I can’t say enough about Dr. Lim and his staff. From the moment I walked in I was treated with nothing but respect and each person I’ve talked to was caring and helpful. Dr. Lim took the time to explain the procedure I was going to have which was a total hysterectomy with the DaVinci procedure. The staff helped me find resources to get the funds I would need for the portion my insurance didn’t pay and were patient and understanding. I am a large woman and I’ve had problems in the past with doctors and staff treating me not so well because of my weight issue. But Dr. Lim and his staff were the absolute best. I can’t say enough about the DaVinci system and my recuperation. It was quicker than I thought... I spent half a day in the hospital, came home and had little to no pain in my recuperation. I know most of it has to do with Dr. Lims expertise in this field and his knowledge and I’m forever grateful to him and his staff. I was listed as pre-cancerous and he was very thorough with… checking my lymph nodes and checking every detail to make sure I had a full recovery. I am grateful for everything they’ve done and I thank God for my cancer free future and him guiding me to Dr. Lim and his staff.

GINA is the rudest, snarkiest office manager. They violate HIPPA by discussing pre op information in front of the waiting room patients. They collect a deposit before they will schedule surgery, even if you have insurance. Forget about getting FMLA paperwork signed in a timely manner. You have to call multiple times and they never return your call. They even scoff if you call more than once about the same issue. My mother missed 4 days of work due to the FMLA paperwork not being returned by their office.

Dr. Lim is a compassionate, honest and caring expert in his field of GYN Oncology. Prior to surgery he took the time to explain my diagnosis, prognosis and treatment options in words a non-medical person could understand. I highly recommend Dr. Peter Lim. Yes, you may have a longer than average wait to see him, but isn't it better to wait for the best? I think so! I personally know so! Thank you Dr. Lim. Thankful to be alive!

The office staff especially the nasty office manager Gina is the worst at customer service . I wish them both a family member if not themselves to go through what I have and I wish them the care that i was given by these two incompetent medical staff so called professional. i Hope Gina especially gets the same treatment I did. Cause she deserves nothing absolutely nothing more. Please don't go to dr.lim he is all about the Benjamin's and not about human care. he needs to go back to California where he is fro. and take that nasty Gina with him .

Just called for a few Basic Questions, Some girl who said I am the Boss, Extremely RUDE I will NEVER go there or Recommend them Either.. Where is their Compassion especially for what they charge... no stars, the Doctor needs to work on his Staff

On referral, Dr. Lim met with my wife and then brought me in to discuss options. He said she may have cancer and needed immediate surgery. After discussing options and the need for moving quickly, he left the room and sent in his "closer" to schedule surgery. She said they would need $2000 upfront before they would schedule.He is a provider for our insurance PPO with a deductible of only $300! We borrowed the money and paid them. Two months later, they have yet to refund the "mordida" even though insurance has been paid.
