Extremely disrespectful and arrogant office staff.

I have had a hard time finding a doctor who would listen, take time with, and actually treat my mom’s conditions - not just reduce symptoms through meds or dismiss her with the statement, “Well, you are aging.” While I will admit the average person may not get his dry wit or his use of humerous sarcasm, my mom absolutely loved him. He is literally the first doctor in the 18yrs of living in NC that my mom has loved. Some may see him as having a poor bedside manner, I would say those people just didn’t get his sense of humor. We were quite saddened to hear Dr Lofaso left the practice recently and now we have the daunting task of finding a new doctor for her. He always took his time with her and answered every question she had without ever making her feel dumb or insignificant. I can only hope we find another doctor that she can connect with as easily as she did with Dr. Lofaso. I am thankful for the time my mom had him as her doctor.

HORRIBLE BUSINESS!!! The Dr. was decent I suppose, he smiled and said hello when I entered, but the office staff was very rude. As I approached the receptionist, I got the distinct impression that I was interrupting a very important text message because she without looking up from her cell phone pushed a clipboard at me and quite rudely said "Sign in." After waiting a solid 45 minutes without any acknowledgement, I left. OVER a year later, I received a bill from them stating that I owed them $10 for missing my appointment. When I called on multiple occassions to contest this fee, I was told several times that someone would get back to me, but to this day, no one has. However, I still receive the same bill for $10 which I refuse to pay. Avoid this business at all costs!

Initialy,Dr.Lofaso seemed like a caring doctor.However, after I missed an appointment,in which I also called to cancel, he sent me aletter terminating me as his patient.Or it was because he said I didn't pay his annual fee for being my doctor.However, I called his receptionist to pay over the phone and she said she could not do that.The point I am making is, after about 5 years of being his patient he did not have the courtesy or decency to return my call so I can explain to him what I just stated. Don't, be fooled by his phony smile or his phony concern for you. Because once you have any kind of issue with him he will drop you immediately. He is about the almighty dollar. Not only did he do this to me, but also to other patients of his I know. BIG PHONEY.

When I went for my initial appointment- I was shocked he served me with a two page document stating if I chose him as my dr. I would need to pay an additional $100 a year. What??? For concierge service??? In case I call him??? I think these are things should be mentioned prior to your dr. Visit!!!! If I would have known I wouldn't have waisted my time initially!

Do not even waste your time. His staff is allowed to treat you like garbage due to this doctor advocating this behavior. He screams and curses at you like you are a criminal. My family was going through a horrible time with cancer and he treated all of us like garbage. Threatened to not treat my father if we (his children) came in there asking questions(using the f word about 30 times). If you want to be your own advocate and not accept the death sentence he deals you "you're gonna die" then seek another physician.

My husband and I were referred to this doctor by an aquaintance. The time with the doctor was not the issue. He was friendly and knowledgeable, although he "swears like a sailor". In his efforts to cut expenses he is missing the mark with his office staff. The girl at the front desk is so rude! She also left the wrong appointment date on my voicemail, so that I left work and showed up for my appointment one day late. Not only was I not seen for an important follow up appointment, but I was charged the $35 fee due to the incompetency of his front desk person.My next issue? I received a letter stating that if I wanted to remain on his roster of patients, I needed to pay $100 in cash per year to keep his services. Seriously? If I want to hear profanity and deal with a rude and incompetent staff person, I'm sure I can find that without the $100/yr fee.

My wife and I feel that we have found the ideal primary care physician in the West Palm Beach area. Dr. LoFaso spends quality time with us on each visit to his office to make us feel comfortable and to help us understand the course of treatment he is prescribing. More importantly, he treats us with respect, showing a true interest in our current health issues as well as our future quality of life.I have no doubts about Dr. LaFaso's skills as a physician and trust his judgement with my most treasured possessions, my family, with no hesitation.

Do yourself a favor and seek out another medical professional. He may indeed have all of the medical knowledge to treat you effectively, but there are all the other aspects that just do not support having him as the number one choice for a primary care physician. If you like to hearing cursing from him, inappropriate conversations about you having "cancer and you're dying" when you are to be seen for other issues that do not have anything to do with cancer, insurance/billing problems and since his former Medical Assistant/nurse, Debbie was arrested, high turn over of staff well then he may be the right choice for you. He walks a fine line of being HIPAA compliant in regard to patient privacy such as the ability of hearing about patient/physician or patient/staff conversations that are absolutely of personal and confidential information. He has no problem of FIRING YOU from his practice and doesn't necessary provide a specific reason, which in my opinion is a legal loophole that he… sought legal advice. Again, he may provide correct diagnoses and even appropriate medical management, BUT you may endure much unnecessary treatment as his social skills are inept, and why he probably compensates for borderline abusive behavior.
