Excellent office staff. Dr. Mc Andrews not anxious to operate. He was right. Pain went away after knee healed.

Great care, no infection after bursa removal for infection. Great bedside manner, and prompt attention.

In 2008 I was snow blowing and the blower got stuck in a snow bank and I pulled it out, I felt a sharp pain and knew something was wrong. I went to another Dr., but after four visits he admitted that he did not care for shoulders!! My son in law advised me to see Dr. McAndrews as he fixed his knee and did a good job. So, I made an appointment to see Dr. Mc Andrews. I am so happy that I did. He had x-rays taken and the showed me them. I had a torn rotator cuff. He gave me my options and explained what surgery would be like, I was in terrible pain so chose the operation, which was the first one in my life, I had the surgery about a week later, All went very well and I am very happy I went to Dr McAndrews. I notice that some of the experiences I have read on this site are not good. Unless Dr McAndrews personality has greatly changed, I did not experience any of the things mentioned. I found his bedside manner to be very professional and supportive. In fact, I am having… some problems with my other shoulder and if I need surgery....I will go to Dr McAndrews again in a heart beat!

Dr. McAndrews was did an amazing job with our Son both times he broke his leg. He had him casted perfectly, up and moving around quickly and an excellent Re-hab program. It was great to see a doctor engaged with our young athlete and taking an interest in making sure he had a full recovery.

I was hospitalized with a broken and dislocated femur following a skiing accident. I met Dr. McAndrews and we discussed my case and situation prior to surgery. As I lead a very active lifestyle I was very concerned about a full recovery and was considering being transported to U of M in Ann Arbor to have the surgery done there. 3 1/2 months later I wish I'd done so. Dr. McAndrews said then he referred cases he couldn't handle to the U of M, but assured me he could handle my surgery. Unfortunately the surgery left my affected leg 13 cm shorter than my other leg. While I've not yet fully recovered, I will probably limp and perhaps use a cane the rest of my life, or go through a surgical intervention to lengthen my leg and correct the situation. Additionally Dr. McAndrews put me on blood thinners, common practice with large bone surgeries to prevent blood clots. However once my INR reached 1.3 his staff adjusted my medication to hold at that level. 3 days later I was suddenly… totally out of breath and then hospitalized at the U of M with DVT and a life-threatening pulmonary embolism. The attending physician was amazed my INR was so low, believed to be the reason for my complications. I soon learned that INR's are kept between 2 and 3 to prevent blood clots in these situations, and I have been at this level with no further complications since being hospitalized. When Dr. McAndrews was contacted to find out why my INR was not at normal 2 - 3 medicated levels, his staff called back the next day and explained that 1.3 was a level orthopedic surgeons prefer because it facilitates tissue growth, although cardiologists may medicate to the 2 - 3 range. The ED doctors, the attending, my post-op orthopedic surgeon, and PCP had not heard of this practice.

I have been a patient of Dr.. McAndrews for almost a year now. I love his bedside manner. His nursing staff is very pleasant as well!!!!

My daughter was diagnosed by another physician as having petella tendonitis. She did a round of physical therapy, which did not help. When we went back to this doctor his attitude was too bad, you'll have to "deal with the pain". We went to see Dr. McAndrews as a second opinion. He could not believe that an MRI was never done, which he ordered right away. What we found was chronic patella tendonitis. We imobilized the knee, did another round of physical therapy but it did not relieve the pain. We finally did surgery. This is a very rare surgery. In fact, this was Dr. McAndrews fourth of such surgeries. So far, so good. I would highly recommend Dr. McAndrews. Yes, you do sometimes have to wait to be seen. But when he sits down with you, he takes the time to explain EVERYTHING to you. I highly recommend Dr. McAndrews.

Great staff. Doctors are busy and their staff might be as well. Patient patients are as important as good Doctors.
