Dr. Peter Michael Mowschenson, MD

Dr. Mowschenson saved my life 40 years ago. I was a young man with a severe bleeding ulcer that couldn't be stopped. I was bleeding out, and he arrived in the middle of the night, handsome, young, and fresh (with a great accent), and performed the dangerous surgery. I'm still here. He's my hero. Not sure how you thank someone for something like that.

I met with Dr. Mowschenson after my diagnosis of Hyperparathyroid Disease. I was told I had a small adenoma on my right Parathyroid Gland and it needed to be removed because my calcium and PTH levels were rising rapidly. I had a lot going on personally and wasn't really ready for a surgery like this. I was really scared and postponed several times before I actually got up the courage to get this done. My surgical team was outstanding and Dr. Mowschenson was amazing. He told me after my surgery that my adenoma was much larger than it showed on the scan and it took double the time I was told to remove it, which made my family waiting very nervous. After my surgery he informed them of the issue and assured them I was going to be fine. I am post surgery 7 weeks and I am feeling great. I just had my blood work done and my levels are right where they are supposed to be. I can't thank Dr. Mowschenson enough for making me feel better and putting my mind at ease immediately following my… surgery. I have to give a special shout out to his Office Manager Andrea who is the sweetest most considerate and patient person I have ever dealt with in a medical office. She listened repeatedly to my questions and always made me feel so much better even when I would call her a few times about the same thing! Thank you Andrea and Dr. Mowschenson for everything. BTW...my scar looks amazing and hardly even shows!

As a young man some 30-odd years ago I had an acute bleeding ulcer that would not stop. i had lost some 6-units of blood and was rushed to the BI in the middle of the night nearly passed out. There, a good looking a young doctor with a neat accent preformed emergency surgery and saved my life. Always wanted a chance to thank him again. I'm sure he's just as good a surgeon now and great human.

I had a Thyroid lobectomy, quick and speedy recovering Dr. Mowchesnon is a very excellent surgeon. He answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable while in his care.

I was absolutely mortified to find out that I had Medullary Thyroid Cancer & had to have my thyroid removed. After I got somewhat of a grip I went to the Internet & googled Top Thyroid surgeons in my area & found a few but Dr Mowschenson's credentials were very impressive. He has an email address on his website so I emailed my situation & he emailed me back within 15 minutes & said he could help me & to call his office for an appt. I did & my husband & I & went to his office. He was very nice & ordered some further testing. In fact while there he called an associate for an ultrasound apt which I was able to do that same day, very impressed with that. He did the surgery at Beth Israel shortly afterwards. I feel he did a superior job. He took out some extra lymph nodes , some of which had cancer.......and my intuition tells me he may have saved my life. He has excellent communication skills & calls with tests results right away. He has put up with my lists of what are probably stupid… questions. I cannot recommend him highly enough. I am so thankful for his knowledge, pleasant personality & getting me thru this most difficult time. I am grateful for my life thanx to Dr Mowschenson.

Ecellent surgeon. Had my thyriod removed due to graves/pap. Did a wonderful job and placed the incision in a spot were the crease in my neck would cover it. Always willing to answer my questions and spend time. Office is clean and desk help is friendly. He is also extremly funny which is a great charectoristic in these high stress health situations A+
