What kind of dr office hires a well known meth junky for an assistant , I won’t be going back there

From what I was told by my referring physician, Dr. Nassar is a very skilled sleep specialist. I did not find this to be the case. I went to him with a very complex sleep condition, one that apparently was out of his comfort zone. He neglected to think with me on the complexities of the problem, was dismissive and condescending when I proposed my own thoughts, and when my wife and I replied to those statements, with: "Okay. Fine. Then help me understand why I am still experiencing crippling sleep disturbances," he made us feel like we were overreacting and that nothing all that serious was going on. In other words, he was not only no help whatsoever, we left discouraged and feeling hopeless. Not because he couldn't help me. I'm used to that. Like I said, my condition is quite complex. But because he made no effort whatsoever to exercise diagnostic imagination, expressing the worst in paternalistic dismissive doctoring. If you who are reading this have a simple condition, he's… probably fine. But if you have something difficult to understand, warning: beware the bully. He's not going to help you, but he sure will still require you to pay him.

I saw Dr. Nassar because I have had severe insomnia for over 30 years. Combined with a propensity for the disorder to run in my family, it was propelled by a career which required many 16 hour days for days or weeks at a time. A 30 year career which never slowed down. I am a 60 year old woman with multiple painful medical issues; degenerative disc disease, lumbar stenosis, spinal stenosis, 4 herniated discs, 12 cysts in my spine, surgically implanted hardware and fibromyalgia Of course at my age I also suffer with extensive osteoarthritis. I see a pain specialist and I am on narcotics in order to give me some relief. Dr. Nassar prescribed xanax once a day at night to aid in the crippling insomnia. My pain specialist at Coastal Spine and Pain objected and requested I have Dr. Nassar prescribe Klonopin, which he did. His opinion was that 5,6 or 7 days without sleep was more dangerous than the possible addiction a 60 year old woman might develop. The dose was low and did not… entirely correct the problem but I was willing to work towards a better plan. However on my next visit Dr. Nassar charged me a $50 co-pay for a three minute visit to tell me that Coastal Spine and Pain had warned him not to treat me. I was ushered out and told to get rid of my dogs if they were a source of worry for me which caused me to lose sleep. Earlier in the year I experienced hallucinations due to the extended lack of sleep and every doctor's answer is just " go to sleep". Well if that were so easily accomplished there would be no need for Dr. Nassar. The medical profession has let me down in the worst possible way, if they don't have an easy answer they simply dismiss you as a patient. If you need a c-pap machine, see Dr. Nassar if your problem cannot be corrected with this new age wonder machine I suggest you go elsewhere.

I saw Dr Nassar for insomnia. I finally made some progress after years of trying different sleep aids. Staff at the office were fantastic. This sleep center is hihgly recommended

I have had OSA for years. Got in and out quickly. Dr Nassar arranged for all new equipment. Staff was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Dr and practice are highly recommended.

Dr. Nassar and his entire staff are extremely kind. From the check--in to the office visit everyone asked the right questions. I took the sleep study on his website first which was helpful to me. I am sleeping better!
