Dr. Peter H Parken, MD

Dr. Parken is a good man and a good doctor. I have been seeing him for about 2 and a half years for the suboxone program. I like the program, but there is a problem. I don't mind drug urinalysis, but the fact is if I'm there for a former problem. If I come up negative for opiates and very trace amounts of marijuana they seem to think that I'm going to relapse on them(opiates). The simple fact is, for me; marijauna keeps me from using any other substances. besides the fact that you have to smoke it, for me its is VERY beneficial. Unlike most people that are on the suboxone, i take it as prescribed and i don't get "high" from taking it. This is because I was taking large quantities of vicodin(60 + daily). I think that if something benefits the patient, the doctor should be equally happy. I stress the point that everyone reacts to substances in different ways. I also stick to my rooted beliefs in reduction in use and improving the quality of life....I think that more doctors especially… now should get akin to marijuana being on somewhat of a medical boom and come to realize that if used under guidelines and not smoked in excess, it can be a very good medicine. Instead of riding the coat-tails of the white collared 'foredoctors' who happen to endorse alcoholism and condone anyone who has had a substance abuse issue, they should look at what is benificial to the medical community as a whole. If the country was run like that we wouldnt have elected our last three president. I'm not saying 'be a stoner'. In fact, I'm saying 'be responsible'.
