Dr. Peter Raymond Paul JR., MD

I wouldn't take my dog to his man. I was hospitalized and told by the hospital to do follow up cardiac tests. Dr Paul dismissed me and wanted to immediately say it was anxiety even though one of the tests the hospital did found there was an issue. He didn't listen to me and rushed me. I switched doctors there. I filed a complaint with the office manager on him and next I knew, they discharged me as a patient. They claimed that since I didn't want to see Dr Paul, what would happen if I called after hours and he was the on call doctor. They are full of it. I think he was ticked I filed a complaint. He put my health in jeapordy. Before they discharged me as a patient, my new family doctor there listened to me and sent me to a Cardiologist. I had a holter monitor and other tests and ended up being dx with Cardiomyopathy. Going untreated before this, I could have ended up in heart failure. Nice job Dr Paul and PIIM.

Dr Paul is very engaged while you are meeting with him. He listens to your situation and concerns. I feel he takes a look at the overall picture and has the experience to give multiple recommendations if applicable.

He was my doc for many years wonderful are doctor and if I still lived in michigan Id still be seeing him ! One of the best doc I ever had . Plus he took care of my folks after I moved them from tenn back toMichigan and they passed comfortable thanks to Dr Paul I can never than him enough for the care he gave us

I have been going to Dr. Paul for 8 years, mainly for annual physicals. I find him thorough and well prepared when I visit. He is courteous and answers all of my questions to my satisfaction. I have even recommended my son to see him.

I went to him for 2 issues and he would only focused on one. He didnt even believe me on the 2nd issue- i know my own body & was going to him for help--- I have never been more disrespected or dismissed in my entire life.

Dr. Paul is friendly and professional. He is well versed regarding my medical condition and knows when to confer with my specialist. He is very accommodating and has a good sense of humor.

I called for information and was couteously helped by the receptionist.

After a wonderful first couple of experiences with Dr. Paul I ran into a wall. My blood labs (Thyroid hormones) were elevated and although the office claims they mailed me a follow up request, I never received it (phone call may be a good idea in this case). Eight months later I received a letter asking me why I hadn't had my re-tests done. I quickly had my labs re-done and my TSH level was still high. After trying to talk to Dr. Paul THREE times (each time getting stuck with his rude nurse), I gave up and scheduled an appointment with an Endo Doc. Dr. Paul never ONCE asked if I was having any symptoms of HypoThyroidism (which my lab results indicate). I also have fertility concerns as my TSH level is a 5.78 and MANY reports suggest that the number should be between 1-2 for a healthy safe pregnancy as well as healthy fertility. Not once was I able to voice these VERY serious concerns with Dr. Paul. When I did voice them to his nurse she spoke to me like I was 13 (I am 32) and suggested… I go to an OBGYN and that they would maybe prescribe meds. My OBGYN is Planned Parenthood, I told her that, she said to see them and that they could prescribe me the Thyroid med commonly used. Not only do they NOT prescribe meds but they also do not refer patients. I did alot of leg work and found an Endo that will hopefully help. I am disgusted that miscarriage and infertility (possible side effects of Hypo) are taken so lightly.

Dr. Paul is an excellent internist who responds with appropriate concern to my serious medical condition. He knows when to react emergently and when to lay back and monitor, both fine qualities in a primary care doctor.
