Dr. Peter Perdik, MD

I saw Dr. Perdik because I was having difficulty breathing, with pain that I felt it may be an issue with my lungs, and I also suffer from severe sleep apnea but unfortunately I do not have a CPAP machine to treat it. Originally Dr. Perdik seemed nice but I felt that Dr. Perdik was not very knowledgeable, because he offered no clear or precise diagnosis or reasoning for my pain. I felt that Dr. Perdik did not really seem to care because he offered no solutions, treatment plans or remedies to help resolve my issues and problems. I honestly felt like it was a huge mistake and a waste of time even seeing him. With regards to my severe sleep apnea, I provided Dr. Perdik with sleep studies that date back approximately 16 years and clearly substantiate my need for a CPAP machine, unfortunately all Dr. Perdik was interested in was sending me for another sleep study. These tests cost money and considering my last sleep study was performed in 2020, I honestly feel that Dr. Perdik… should have seriously helped me obtain a cpap machine and not another sleep study that will only show my urgent need for a cpap machine. I feel like it all comes down to money and how much can be made. Nevertheless Dr. Perdik stated that he would set up the new sleep study with United Sleep Center and they will contact me directly. No one contacted me so I contacted United Sleep and after holding for almost thirty minutes for a representative was forced to leave a voicemail message. I left multiple voicemail messages over the course of two weeks and no callbacks. This I feel clearly shows that Dr. Perdik does not follow up or through on his promises and claims. I contacted United Sleep again and finally reached a live person and I spoke with Alona who informed me that they received no orders from Dr. Perdik. I feel that Dr. Perdik has yet to do anything, I feel that this clearly shows that Dr. Perdik really does not care about his patients. I’ve called his office several times requesting to speak with him directly but unfortunately I’m forced to leave a message with his staff. Not once has Dr. Perdik shown me the common courtesy or decency to return either of my phone calls and I’ve only been waiting a month. I feel completely abandoned by this doctor because I feel he does not follow through on his false claims and promises nor does he return patient phone calls or return the records that were left for him to review, so he could help me with getting a cpap machine.

I am a new patient that met with Dr. Perdik recently because for 18 years I have been suffering from severe sleep apnea. Dr. Perdik made loads of claims and promised how he was going to help me and unfortunately and regrettably did not follow through on any of his false promises. I’ve called his office several times leaving messages with his staff requesting the courtesy of a return phone call so that we can discuss this matter further. Dr. Perdik has not returned any of the calls that I made to his office to inquire about why he did not follow through on his claims. I feel Dr. Perdik has been extremely careless, reckless and negligent with my health, safety and well-being. I honestly feel that I was abandoned by Dr. Perdik and that he does not care about his patients. I feel that Dr. Perdik failed to provide prompt, professional or efficient medical care and treatment for my condition. I feel Dr. Perdik failed to arrange medically necessary testing and evaluations to verify my… condition, and substantiate my diagnosis and my need for sleep equipment and ensure that I receive this equipment promptly. All of these actions would have been done by a caring and knowledgeable pulmonary doctor. I feel that Dr. Perdik’s negligence represents medical malpractice.

I booked an online appointment with Dr Perdik at his Selden office for today. I get a call less than 2 hours from the appointment time from a woman there who says the appointment is cancelled. No explanation. I told her it is a bit of an emergency, as I am having trouble breathing. This 'compassionate' woman tells me "If you're that sick, then go to an emergency room". I had been waiting without any sleep for the last four days for this appointment. I am so furious!!! Even now, if you go on zocdoc.com website, you will see this appointment that I had is still available online.

Dr. Perdik is a wonderful doctor. His only problem is his patients are very loyal and since he keeps them healthy they stick around for a long time!! It is hard to get a fast appointment with him because of this, but that said, when you really need him, he will be there. I believe he saved my mother's life by pushing for the right tests and following through thoroughly. I never had anything that serious, but I would trust him with my life. I have been seeing him for 20 years and may stray with-in the same office, but I hope he is still practicing if ever need him for something more serious.
