I was put at ease by the very professional, courteous staff before I ever went into a treatment room. All of the staff were extremely professional and all displayed a high level of competence. Then I met the doctor and he immediately made an effort to put me at ease. He explained everything he was doing and was going to do. He displayed a high degree of competence and I was as comfortable as one can be when having a surgical extraction, followed by a bone graft. It's not the most pleasant way to spend an afternoon, but everyone in this practice did their best to make it as comfortable as possible. Thank you all.

Peter Protzel is a great Oral Surgeon. I had a deep cavity on my lower left wisdom tooth and that same wisdom tooth got a abscess infection? Someone i know recommended me to go to Peter. I went to Peter and he told me nicely how the tooth would be removed. I went under anesthesia and Peter got the wisdom tooth out quickly. I really had no pain after the wisdom tooth was removed. I did feel some irritation for the next 8 days in that area. That is normal from what i read. Your gonna feel some irritation where the wisdom tooth was removed for the next 7 to 10 days. My irritation lasted about 8 days then it was gone. I used salt water on the area where the tooth was removed and an ibuprofen 600mg tablet, which your Oral Surgeon can prescribe to you. The ibuprofen 600mg tablet is 3 times more stronger then a regular ibuprofen tablet you get in drug stores. I would only use it if your feeling irritation or pain from a procedure. I didn't need to take any strong meds… like Vicodin Now if you get your wisdom tooth removed and your in pain, then take the Vicodin. I highly recommend going to Peter if you need an Oral Surgeon in the NY area. He is top notch. 

I highly recommend Dr Protzel and his staff as they are great in every way. Lisa, Wendy, Chris and Christine are all wonderful. Their chair-side manner is so comforting and relaxing. They take the time to explain every step of the procedure and make sure you understand. I never have a problem with appointments,nor do I ever get stuck waiting long. I just want to thank you for making an uncomfortable experience, more comfortable.
