Dr. Peter Rouvelas, MD

If i could give him no stars I would. He is the worst doctor! If he can't handle being a primary care physician and a cardiologist he should choose one. His office staff does not know what they are doing. They are horrible! He is money hungry doctor. He does not do a good job at all. Big time procrastinator and does not follow through. My Dad has an aneurysm and this guy took over a year to get him the help he needs!

Dr. Peter Rouvelas is very caring and a really great guy towards his patients! He is just so convincing and intelllehent. One can tell he knows waht he is talking about! ??One of the best doctors!!! Don’t wait! You won’t regret it! This doctor is amazing and can’t be traded for any other one!!!The best!!! ????

I NEEDED VASCEPA FOR VERY HIGH CHOLESTEROL-TRYGLERCIDES AND HE MADE ME SUFFER WEEKS-MONTHS ON END WITH VERY HIGH HEART-CHEST PAINS, SEVERE FATIGUE, SEVERE-CRIPPLING BACK PAIN, ETC. THE ONLY GOOD THING WAS HIS AWESOME STAFF-Sandy, JoAnn, GiGi, Gendera. DR PETER ROUVELAS DOES NOT LISTEN, NOR HELPS HIS PATIENTS, HE ASSUMES WAY TOO MUCH. YOU CALL HIM UP, AND HE NEVER EVER RETURNS YOUR PHONE CALLS. IF YOU CALL HIM, THE OPERATOR GIVES THE HOURS THE OFFICE IS OPEN EXCEPT HIS OFFICE IS NOT-OPEN DURING THOSE HOURS. HIS GLENWOOD OFFICE IS JUST AS HORRENDOUS. WAIT TIME WAS SEVERAL HOURS. IF YOU LEAVE HIM NOTES, NO FOLLOW-UP. HE MAY VISIT YOU AT AWESOME METHODIST HOSPITAL-BUT HE WILL YOU MEDS THAT YOU TOLD HIM THAT YOU HAD VERY SEVERE ALLERGIC LIFE 'N DEATH REACTION TO.HE DOES ZERO FOLLOW-UP. EVEN WITH BOSTON SCIENTIFIC HEART PACE MAKERS, NEVER EVER KEEPS HIS APPOINTMENTS. YOU WONDER IF YOU NEED TO LIFT A VERY HEAVY SLUDGE HAMMAR AND WACK HIS HEAD-FACE BEFORE DR. PETER ROUVELAS WILL RESPOND TO… YOUR NEEDS.

Dr. Rouvelas is one of the most difficult doctors I have ever dealt with. He has office hours at night, is impossible to reach and doesn't like when you make your own decisions about your health.

I was using Dr. Rouvelas for at least 5 years. I was very happy with him. The wait time is horrible; however I lived right across the street from his 7th Ave location. I would just go home and the very sweet and friendly receptionist would contact me when to come back. I stopped going to the Dr. Rouvelas because his billing lady flat out hung up the phone on me & he found nothing wrong with it. The office had incorrectly charged my insurance with a wellness visit (meaning I went in there saying something was wrong) when it was actually an annual checkup. An annual thru my insurance is free, no copay no nothing. Since it was billed incorrectly it generated a copay ($35) as well as bill from the blood lab ($75). My insurance company said the doctor just has to rebill with the correct â??codeâ??, he would get the same amount of money & the blood lab who was chasing me for $75 would be covered. I had called Dr. Rouvelas office to go over this from work, my work phone is recorded.… I work from 9-5 in Manhattan there really isn't many other options to call. A recorded line makes a beeping sound- once the billing lady heard this she got frazzled â??YOU ARE RECORDING MEâ?? & hung up! SHE FLAT OUT HUNG UP THE PHONE ONE ME! I really canâ??t understand why someone would get so upset with this if you arenâ??t doing anything wrong and then got me thinking â?? are they doing anything wrong? I was so extremely insulted by this that I went to visit the doctor directly after work; the matter got worse â?? HE DEFENDER HER! â??Wouldnâ??t you be insulted if someone was recording youâ?? â?¦... â??No doctor I wouldnâ??t; this is not a feature I can willingly turn on and off on my work phone and I canâ??t grasp her extreme reaction or you defending herâ?? He went on to tell me he has relationships with these labs and will have the bill squashed. 2 months later I get a bill from the lab.

GREAT DOCTOR....THE WAIT TIME IS DIFIICULT BUT WORTH IT.

Since my long time Doctor retired I've seen several Doctors in order to replace him, and I had just about given up until I met Doctor Rouvelas. He made me feel like A human being and at the age of 91 I still matter. I was able to speak with him in my native language and he was very compassionate caring and right away relayed his concerns about my health and ordered the right tests in order to get a diagnosis for the right treatments. I left his office happy and confident that he will be able to help me with all if not most of my ailments. Most importantly I'm thankful for meeting a great human being not just a doctor.

This doctor is not the doctor, he is the business man. When my wife asked him for clearance for surgery, he forced her to pass expensive and exhausting stress test, which he carried out himself in the different office. When we went to hospital's cardiologist, he asked to pass only simple echo gram. Waiting time in office not less 2 hrs.
