Peter “Painless” Schindelholz, D.D.S.
The oldest of five boys, Peter was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin until moving up to Rhinelander in 1969 with his parents and brothers.  After graduating from Rhinelander High School (yes, he was a Hodag!) he went on to UW Madison to earn his BS in Zoology in 1975. With a scientific mind, and knowing he liked to work with his hands, Painless chose dentistry. Graduating from Marquette Dental School in 1979, he bought the practice in Land O’ Lakes that summer. Always curious about why some teeth wore down or broke more than others, and wanting to stop or slow down that process, Painless took additional courses in the early 90’s from the Dawson Center for Advancement of Dentistry and the Pankey Institute.  He built his state of the art, log dental office in 1992.  Painless is a member of ADA, WDA, CWDS, Chicago Dental Society, Phelps Lions Club,  both the Land O’ Lakes and Watersmeet Chamber of Commerce and the Land O’ …Lakes Fish and Game Club. He has served as President of Vilas County Chamber of Commerce and the Land O’ Lakes Lions Club. Currently, Painless is chairman of The Three Bear Sled Dog Races and Games and is in charge of shooting off the famous “Land O’ Lakes Fireworks” every July 3rd, something he has been doing since 1981. Married over 25 years to Diane, they have two grown daughters. An avid downhill skier, he also likes to fish, bike and hunt just about anything, especially pheasants with his dog Anna. “I love taking courses in dentistry; especially in comprehensive care which enables me to do Cosmetic, Reconstructive and TMJ work. I hope to practice dentistry for a long time Lord willing. The more I do it, the more I enjoy it.”
