Dr. Peter Leonard Scudera, MD

Dr. Peter Scudera and his nurse, Rachel, are fantastic. Being new to the area, we didn’t know what to expect. We came to the office unsure of what the prognosis was and Dr. Scudera explained everything to us. He reviewed the test results and created a plan to resolve the issue. Dr. Scudera has a great bedside manner. He took his time, diagnosed the problem, and offered real solutions. We are so glad we found him and highly recommend him. He’s the best!

I made my appointment with Dr. Peter L. Scudera over a month ago. I did a lot of research choosing a Gastroenterologist and was willing to wait for an appointment. The office has very strict cancellation policy and wants you to be there ½ hour before appointment time. I printed out all my forms online and had them ready when I arrived ½ hour early. The first thing the receptionist says is “do you have an appointment?” I said yes… she looks again and then says “your appointment is not until 9 am?” I said yes but yesterday I called your office to confirm the appointment and was told MAKE SURE to arrive early. Dr. Scudera likes patients early. I was called back to the examination room at 9:07 am. As soon as I am in the room with an LPN she says to me “Do you mind seeing a Nurse Practitioner today?” I told her of course I mind. I made this appointment over a month ago and took off ½ day of work and drove 40 minutes for my appointment. Not to see a Nurse Practitioner but an… MD…She said “We can get him in here at the end of the appointment”. I said why so I can be rushed and feel uncomfortable because I am taking up his time. I told her never mind. I was leaving. I wasn’t going to start seeing a Dr. that runs an office that treats New Patients as an after-thought. Nurse Practitioner training covers basic disease prevention, coordination of care, and health promotion, BUT DOES NOT PROVIDE THE DEPTH OF EXPERTISE NEEDED TO RECOGNIZE MORE COMPLEX CASES IN WHICH MULTIPLE SYMPTOMS SUGGEST MORE SERIOUS CONDITIONS. Why would I take the time to go to a top recommended physician only to be seen by a Nurse Practitioner?? They should tell new patients this before we make an appointment so we can decide for ourselves.

Impossible to get a hold of, constantly on vacation, does not care about welfare of patients. This man caused serious damage to me, leaving me with a condition I had not previously had. He is a malpractice lawsuit away from never practicing. Avoid!!!

Doctor great. Office staff miserable.

Great doctor! He saw me in hospital in 1994, for hepatitis, and has done various tests since. Very gentle, and would recomend him, and have, many times. Good bedside manner.

I had been calling Dr. Scuderas nurse (Heather) 4 times to get the result of biopsy but she never returned my calls. Finally, I decided to make an appointment to see Dr. Scudera to discuss the result of the endoscopy/biopsy in person. Unfortunately, after waiting for over one hour my mother was seen by his PA because Dr. Scudera was running late. The PA came in the room for about 5 minutes and asked the reason for the office visit then she went out and came back with two new prescriptions. When I looked at the prescriptions one of the prescriptions was for a medication that my mother is already taken. Here we are after two months, no real result for biopsy and no trustworthy medication. Therefore, Ive decided to not see Dr. Scudera any more

I've seen Dr. Scudera for my gastro system diagnosis and was very pleased and satisfied with his professionalism and expertise in this area. No waiting time. And best of all he does not sttempt to rip you off by making you come to see him for periodic lab work that's necessary to monitor you condition while other doctors might want you to come in just so that they can bill insuranc. that can save you the copays and the time/travel cost.
