Dr. Peter Smolens, MD

Our 1st child was born several years ago and, unfortunately, my wife lost a lot of blood during the delivery. Dr. Smolens was called in afterward to determine if she needed a transfusion and deemed it wasn't needed, even though her hemoglobin count was dangerously low. While speaking to us, he was the epitome of the arrogant rude, better than thou MD who even spoke to my father - a fellow MD - like a child when explaining to him what had occurred. Long story short, after a week in the ICU, my wife finally received the necessary blood transfusion after a Hematologist basically said, "either she receives a transfusion, or she will die."

I gave him detailed answers to all his questions. However, when reviewing my records, I found many incorrect statements pertaining to family history and my own history. Dr. Smolens was never on time for an appointment and always had to wait in his office for over an hour plus to see him. I ended up with no confidence in his diagnosis after seeing another doctor and the tests didn't align with his findings.
