If u value your mental health, stay as far away from Stanbro Healthcare Group as you can. I was provided with plenty of red flags over the past few years that I naively chose to ignore. Please don’t make my same mistake. Their therapist turnover… let me just say I’ve had 7 therapists in 3 years. Seven. They can’t keep staff! How can you develop a relationship with your talky doctor when you meet them twice and then they move *cough* someplace better *cough* and ur stuck talking about ur childhood AGAIN with a whole new person?? ALL of that would have been acceptable as long as I could get refills for my scrips. Keep going… Their front office staff is the deciding factor: rude, incompetent, hateful. It takes a patient, intelligent, caring type of person to work the front office of a mental health facility and none of these moo cows are that type. Not one of them care about the patients. Not a single one. They will literally hang up on you rather than explain. They will promise to… call you back and ghost you. They will spitefully cancel your appointments if you disagree with them, even if it’s for the next day. What happened to “do no harm?” Even one of their former doctors complained to me during a session about why he was leaving due to the front desk’s ineptitude, negligence and unprofessionalism. And if u call needing a refill, forget it. Might as well go to the ER and get your meds until you can find a NEW provider because these guys ain’t it. They will actually argue with you and imply that you’re abusing your meds so why should they hurry and refill your scrip? That’s their reasoning. In a mental health facility. Incredible.

Stephen Johnston met with me all of 15 minutes during my first visit and wanted to prescribe me an extremely dangerous antipsychotic drug for sleep. It causes tardive dyskinesia, ruins lives and causes disabilities. He knew me all of 15 minutes and decided I must have a personality disorder and wanted to send me for special testing. My LPC said he couldn't be more wrong and that GAD from C-PTSD is the diagnoses and that it absolutely is not a personality disorder and if he had listened to me explain how I don't feel like my old self, worry all the time and am in chronic pain 24/7. So at my 15 minute follow-up with him I explained how I didn't want to take that drug and told him what the true diagnoses was. He acted like he cared and listened. Then, the third time I visited he acted like he cared and listened, but then on Monday the following week I got a call from the neuropysch clinic about testing for OCPD. How upsetting! It is very unprofessional in his line of work to not tell… someone you are doing that especially after they told this was not necessary or accurate. This is not me and I've never felt this way in my life. I've always been the most optimistic, happy person and I wish I felt good again. Trying to label someone going through a rough patch mentally and physically in pain can make people who are suffering with PTSD and GAD worse, especially if they are suffering with insecurity and fearful of leaving the house. Being caught of guard with that call triggered all my anxiety and insecurity! It made me feel really bad about myself and made me wonder what I said that made him assume I have a personality disorder. My therapist said he made my anxiety worse and set my progress from my trauma back a lot. It became worse than when I first started seeing her. I've racked my brain trying figure out what I said that made him assume that about me and the only difference between the appointments was that during the two appointments, the first and third, they both had pretty, young psych students sitting in with him. Maybe he was trying to look good in front of them and act like he's thorough and knew what he was doing. Clearly he's doing more harm than good. I now know it was early menopause and heavy metal poisoning making me feel so bad and making my health issues worse. No thanks to Stanbro Healthcare Group and Stephen Johnston. Makes you wonder if they get a kick back from these drugs and psych referrals or do they have friends there that they want to send business. Either way, stop being so careless with people's delicate emotional state and put more thought into handling their care.

AT THE VERY LEAST IT'S NOT TO CAUSE HARM!!! YOURE DEALING WITH PEOPLE'S LIVES AND MENTAL HEALTH AND ALL THEY DO IS PRESCRIBE MEDS IRRESPONSIBILITY AND TREAT YOU AS A BILLABLE RESOURCE WITH DISREGARD FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL BEING... AT ALL!!! THEY HAD ME ON 5 DIFFERENT MEDS...PRESCRIBING MEDS TO ADDRESS THE SIDE EFFECTS OF THE PREVIOUS MED AND PRESCRIBING PSYCHOTROPIC MEDS DUE TO THEIR SIDE AFFECTS RATHER THAN THEIR PRIMARY PURPOSE (I WAS PRESCRIBED A ANTI PSYCHOTIC DRUG FOR A SLEEP DISORDER I WAS EXPERIENCING) THIS CAUSED A SEVERE REACTION... I WANTED TO WEEN OFF... THEY DIDN'T HONOR MY DESIRES AND CONTINUED TO PRESCRIBE MORE MEDS! THEY'RE POORLY RESPONSIVE WITH COMMUNICATION AND CHICKEN SH*T PUSS*S WHEN THE WATERS GET A LITTLE MUDDY AND THE RUBBER HITS THE ROAD!!! YOU'RE DEALING WITH PEOPLE'S LIVES… AND MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES...MY CHALLENGES CAN GET VERY DARK AND STEVE'S REPLY IN THE MIDST OF A VERY DIFFICULT TIME WAS SOOOO NOT CARING WITH COMPLETE ABSENCE OF COMPASSION... I FELT HOPLESS...THE WATERS ARE MUDDY AND COMES WITH THE TERRITORY!!! MAN UP OR GET OUT OF THIS DELICATE PROFESSION!!! STOP COUNTING YOUR MONEY AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR PATIENTS FIRST!!! SHAME ON THIS FACILITY... SHAME ON YOU STANBRO GROUP!!!

I've been seeing Dr. Stanbro for almost four years and although there have been some changes in the office staff and I've had issues in the past getting a "live" person to answer the phone, I've also seen some positive changes. (Soooo glad we don't have to go pick up paper prescriptions any more!) Dr. Stanbro has been amazing!

I had my first appointment set, and was waiting for the date to roll around, I have been muddling through life with medication that does not work for me, and was so excited to be getting the help I needed. I received a call stating they will not see me because I’m pregnant, I asked the person on the phone if I was just supposed to continue on without meds till I gave birth and she told me yes. I will not see them now nor ever. And I hope this practice closes.

Problem #1:during my first initial appointment, they didn’t have all my paperwork in the file (primarily the medical records I missed work to obtain). Problem #2: it took 2 weeks and 3 different phone calls to get a prescription. Was supposed to get 2....only got 1. Problem #3: called a 5th time to get the script they were supposed to write. Too bad! (Joke was on me) They changed their minds, and decided not to write it for me. Their explanation as to why made no logical sense with a side attitude of “we Could care less”. Good to know my health has to suffer due to their inability to practice professional medicine and lack of organization. Office staff is rude and act like they hate their lives on the phone. I was referred to them by my PCP because I needed help-I am definitely not getting it, and am treated like I am the problem.

He is a terrible doctor without ethics or standards. He will tell you about his vast experience but he does not listen and would rather give a pill from his pharmacy than try to help. He does not explain risk of medications and has no problem lying. He is a danger to his patient's.

The is the most incompetent office. Absolutely Distgusting ! The office staff / PA doesn't not call back . We've left many, many messages to no avail. This facility is supposed to be helping patient's who are grieving etc..and need medical advice esp. when a spouse is concerned her spouse is in a deep depressive state and needs help. This is disgusting to leave your patients having to seek help elsewhere because the office staff/ PA who return your phone call. Some calls need to be addressed asap not 72 hrs or more.

My wife showed up at 11:09am for an 11am appt because it was her first time there and she got lost finding the right building. The doctor had already left, no calls to make sure she was okay or still coming in or hadn't committed suicide or anything just up and left BEFORE 11:10am. Less than 10 minutes is all the time your life is worth to this group of "doctors" Find a real Doctor that cares about your life instead of your insurance billing.

Dr. Stanbro sees my daughter and the difference in her behavior is like night and day. The front office seems a little chaotic sometimes, but it is a very busy office. Jennifer is friendly to my daughter.
