Dr. Peter Michael Vandermeid, MD

Have been a patient of Dr.V for some 14 years now , he has a patient load that is high in Diabetic Patients, Influenza, Wounds , abcesses, etc. Most of his patient load is poor , rural to some suburban types. He has been through the initial development of this office from the only game in town to now surrounded by 2 private patient care centers that may be taking a lot of the more serious cases fron his small 2 doctor clinic type setting. Just last year they were able to do labs on site. He is NOT the proprietor of this site he is only an employee of MWH -Medicorp Healtcare in Fredericksburg, Va. My interpretation of his care as he has good days and bad days like anyone ; his approach is smooth , caring and cautions; however some of his patient load is stubborn, non- cooperative and won't purchase the medications recommended and depend on home remidies. Those type patients only come to the physician when it is the last resort and don't believe in preventative care. It is easy to… see why he could possibly become burnt- out as he has been the only physician in this office for the past 13 years solo. Handling every emergency for a community of around 15,000 patients. That is some case load. My hat is off to P. vandermeid and his wife who is also a physician in nearby Fredericksburg, Va. His staff is a caring group of ladies both RN's and others who have worked as a team under his direction to give quality care. Have only noticed a lapse in care when the Dr has been on Vacation or away from the office during educational retreats. Then it is difficult to get appointments or care unless your willing to drive to the next MWH clinic [next county ] or to ER AT THE hospital in nearby Fredericksburg, Va.
