My vertebrae was broken in 2 places, and the symptoms I had meant I had to undergo spinal surgery or try wearing a brace first and risk a lifetime of urinary retention problems. I was completely at peace with Dr. Wagner. His fellowship in spinal surgery at Brown suggested to me that he got into this profession for all the right reasons, since he did not waste time taking an easier "fluff" fellowship. It also helped that this "serious" fellowship was exactly the specialty that I needed. Upon getting to know Dr. Wagner over the course of a few days I found him to be sincere, funny, compassionate, very intelligent, and most important of all he seemed to be genuinely passionate about his job. The visiting nurse who came to my home the day after my release from the hospital even said she thought that the scar on my back looked very well done. This spoke to the attention to detail and to excellence that I quickly came to expect from Dr. Wagner. I hope to never have to require his… services again, but I'd recommend him to anyone who needs spinal surgery.
