Dr. Peter Chi Wang, MD

Dr. Wang is an extremely skilled surgeon who shows genuine care for his patients. He saved my mother’s life with an incredibly complex procedure and stopped in every day to check on her after surgery. He is diligent and thorough about follow-up, and even answered the phone himself when there was a complication after surgery. He is a great surgeon and I would recommend him without reservation.

Dr. Wang is an exceptional surgeon and, in my opinion, among the very best in California. He takes the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, including potential risks and complications, and thoughtfully includes family members in these discussions. From the moment you meet him, his professionalism and confidence inspire trust and reassurance. He clearly outlines the next steps both before and after surgery, ensuring everyone feels informed and prepared. Dr. Wang also goes above and beyond by personally involving family members in post-surgical care, patiently demonstrating proper wound care and making the experience feel genuinely personal. I was sent to Dr Peter Wang after my urologist determined I had a fistula ( a hole in my bladder ) . My bladder was attached to my semi colon & created a pathway between the both . This was not a good situation & he suggested i see Dr. Wang . I did call right away but he was so backed up that he could not see me for another 6 weeks. I was experiencing a UTI for months now because of this & was in pain . My persistent calls to the office for any appointment cancelations paid off & i got in . After he evaluated me , he determined i was in dire need of surgery ASOP. He explained to me he was backed up for months , but he told his front office that I had to be priority since the condition of my deteriorating health . He got me in within 2 weeks , performed a normally 2 hour surgery ,but mine took 6 hours since it was so bad , and followed by a normal 3 day hospital stay that turned into 11 days for me to make sure I was good before I got out . I am forever grateful to Dr peter Wang .

I met Dr. Wang at Hoag Emergency Department when I went in for emergency intestinal surgery. I was a very complicated case, and he handled my emergency surgery confidently, professionally and with much compassion. His expertise was spot on during recovery and he knows exactly what he?s doing for best possible outcomes. My recovery was miraculous, and I am indebted to him for making best case scenario results from worst case scenario problems. My recovery has been quite painless compared to other surgeries I’ve had which has been an incredible bonus on top of everything else. I highly recommend Dr. Peter Wang. I’ve already told all my friends to seek him out if they need a surgeon.

If I could add more stars I would. My encounter with Dr. Wang started when my father had to be rushed to the Hospital (Hoag Hospital) he was immediately evaluated and admitted into the hospital. He was too weak to have any surgery done at first, after a few weeks and under the guidance of Dr. Wang, my dad had a very delicate surgery. Dr. Wang provided me with updates through out the 4-5 hour long procedure. Afterwards, Dr. Wang provided me with what we can expect the coming days and weeks. An additional amount of weeks before my dad was discharged. This all happened in October 2024. Since that point Dr. Wang made sure my dads wound was treated properly and educated me on how to care for it when home health wasn’t available. This is the 3rd procedure my dad had that was emergent and the first time with Dr. Wang. I can say with confidence that had Dr. Wang been his surgeon the first time my dad had the surgery- my father would not have needed any additional surgeries. A true and honest… professional. I’m glad my father received the care he needed! Thank you Dr. Wang for saving my fathers life. Thank you for the continue care and support. I hope there are more like you.

I am the luckiest person to have been connected with Doctor Wang! His amazing expertise and dedication to his patients sets him apart from everyone else! No one better! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me a second chance at life!

I met Dr. Wang roughly 6 months ago. I had two hernias one the size of a softball the other golf ball size. Dr. Wang found two more during surgery. From start to finish he stated what to expect how long the healing process would take. Three months later, I feel great just had my final postop appointment. I’ve been pretty active over the years typically ride my beach cruiser 16 to 20 miles a day along with weightlifting and stretching. On a daily basis looking forward to including golf and Pilates in my regular activity.
