Dr. Peter John Wiltse, DO

I had a gastric sleeve in 2011 in which I had problems from beginning. To make a very very long story short 93 days 2 ambulance rides 3 hospitals and more surgeries n procedures than I can count with a lifetime of BIG PROBLEMS FOREVER. I DO NOT BLAME HIM FOR ALL HIS MISTAKES AND WHAT ALL I HAVE BEEN THRU BUT JUST REMEMBER IF YOU HAVE ANY SIGNS OF TROUBLE REFUSE to leave the hospital and if it's a small hospital transfer to Baylor Dallas! DR WILTSIE HAD TERRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNOR, MADE CRUDE REMARKS DURING HIS ROUNDS AND HONESTLY .....BOTTOM LINE IS IF MY FAMILY HAD NOT THREATENED TO SUE THE SMALL HOSPITAL, AND GOT ME TRANSFERED TO BAYLOR, DR WILTSIE WAS GOING TO PUT ME IN A NURSING HOME TYPE PLACE AND BEING A NURSE MYSELF I KNOW I WOULD HAVE DIED WITHIN A FEW DAYS. THANK GOD MY FAMILY STAYED BY MY SIDE 24/7 ALL 93 DAYS. 63 OF THOSE DAYS WERE IN THE SMALL HOSPITAL. DR WILTSIE NEVER WORE GLOVES AND I GOT EVER HOSPITALS ACCQUIRED INFECTION POSSIBLE. I BLAME HIM FOR PUTTING HIS BARE HANDS… IN MY OPEN BODY, CUTTING OUT DEAD TISSUE WITH DIRTY SCISSORS THAT WERE JUST THROWN BY THE SINK DAILY...THAT I BLAME HIM FOR!! LOOKING BACK I WISH I WOULD HAVE DONE DIFFERNTLY AND REPORTED HIM BUT I WAS AFRAID IF I DID IT MIGHT KEEP ME FROM GETTING THE MEDICAL CARE I CONTINUE TO REQUIRE CONSTANTLY. PRAY ABOUT WHICH DR YOU CHOOSE. YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT. SIGNED: NOW DISABLED SINCE 2011 WITH NO CHANCE OF EVER RETURNING TO WORK, NURSING CARREER GONE DUE TO MEMORY PROBLEMS FROM SO MANY SURGERIES , COMPLETE GASTRECTOMY, CONSTANT VOMITING, SEVERE OSTEOPOROSIS I LOST 6 TEETH FROM CONSTANT DETERIORATION ALL AT THE SAME TIME.....and the list goes on and on.

Dr. Wiltse did my surgery and from day one I've had problems. Long story short I'm going to another Surgeon to have it fixed.

I think Dr. Wiltse is a good Doctor, but his staff were a problem. My wife had an appendectomy this year which was an emergency surgery. We found out he is out of network so I called his office the day of the surgery to see how much the cost would be. There was a chance we could switch to in network Doctor but the staff told me that they wouldn't charge above what our insurance paid so not to worry about it. Long story short we were charged an extra $1500. It was discounted from the original but still not what was discussed. I sent phone records proving I talked the day of the surgery, but the office manager stated unless I had "taped the phone conversation" I had to pay. I guess the lesson going forward is tape your conversations with his staff if you have any questions on your billing before surgery.

I don't know what happened with the first persons experience but I almost want to think they are talking about the wrong doctor. I went to quite a few meet and greets with doctors before I went to Wiltse's. Being a nurse, I severely graded the doctors. Dr. Wiltse's meeting was the only one I sat through. Upon leaving the meeting, I called and left a message at his office requesting an appt. The staff was always nice to me when I came in and every single encounter with the doctor was a good one. He took me to surgery and afterwards, my blood pressure shot up. Considering my health, this wasn't a shock. I was sent to the Surgical ICU where Dr. Wiltse visited me 3 times in one day and was super concerned about my blood pressure. He was very attentive. Now you all will notice that my scoring was low on the areas of Ease of Appointment, Promptness and Courteous Staff. That is a busy medical practice. They were making appts, and getting people ready for the doc at the same time. It was the… first time I noticed an office staff running. Sometimes you can only do what you can do. I would more than suggest everyone give this practice a chance. Dr. Wiltse and Meyers are great doctors.

This dr has the worst bedside manor of any doctor I have ever had. He never came to see me after he did the surgery nor did he go out and talk to my family. His office staff only cares about money. Everything they do comes with a cost!!! Very bad staff and doctor!!!!!
