Dr. Peter William Zimmer, MD

Never use this man. He botched up my first surgery and had to have 2 emergency surgeries after.

I saw Dr. Zimmer for a hernia. He was great at first but rushed. He also wanted a “student” from one of the classes he teaches to do the exam and discuss with him and also the student would likely be at the surgery. Remember this is not an intern, PA or nurse, it is a student. After the surgery, he was not very helpful with the continuing issues I was experiencing. He made light of the pain I was having and continually said it would go away in a few weeks. He later said it may not resolve but there was nothing he can do. There are a lot of other Dr’s out there that do hernia surgeries so I would recommend at least getting other Dr. opinions before you had a surgery with Dr. Zimmer. Be sure to check reviews on Dr Zimmer on Healthgrades, US News, yelp, etc. It appears there are several other people who have experienced similar issues. Dr. Zimmer office staff is not very good at all. They are short with you, not responsive other times, seem irritated a lot and don’t seem very… organized.

Great surgery experience with Dr. Zimmer. He is very knowledgable and skilled as a surgeon.

Went to him with what other doctors had told me was a minor cyst. He told me that it was the worst case he’s even seen and made it seem like I had done something wrong by coming to him. He acted as if he did not have time to listen to what I was telling him, or did not believe me. He is one of the many surgeons who has a serious god complex.

He was very knowledgeable, to the point, and put up with all kinds of crazy questions. His staff is wonderful.

Dr. Zimmer performed an emergency bowel resection on me after my large bowel had perforated. He was very thorough in discussing what he would be doing during the procedure prior to my surgery. Post surgery he spent ample time speaking with me about how the surgery went and future options I have. He did not rush through his assessment and did not treat me like I was just a number that as a patient we often times see. He is a very compassionate Dr which can be hard to find. His expertise shows in his attitude and performance. I would recommend him to anyone who is in need of a surgeon.

The rudest, arrogant doctor I've ever been to. He's one of those doctors who has a "God-complex."

Doctor Zimmer is a great surgeon. Not the best bedside manner but professional and good at what he does.
