Dr. Peter Kevin Zirkle, MD

I went to him after another doctor did a partial thyroidectomy for a cancerous thyroid nodule. Dr. Zirkle agreed that the rest of my thyroid needed to be removed, but noticed when I spoke that my voice didn't sound right. He took me down the hall to an E.N.T (on a different floor) and had the doctor examine my vocal cords right there! He discovered that one of my vocal cords was paralyzed from the first surgery (something my previous surgeon never mentioned!) Dr. Zirkle also did an ultrasound on my neck (himself!) I've never felt more care and concern from a physician before in my life. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Zirkle.

I had an appt and when Dr. Zirkle came in to the room, he sat down and said "what can I do for you". He's the Doctor. My friend was there taking notes and would ask questions, and he ignored her totally. He was rude, short.

DR. Zirkle has an amazing personality and is a truly caring physician. His reputation as a great thyroid specialist is more than well deserved.

Bottom line first: an excellent doctor - I had a very good experience, and with God's care, his care, and extra time in surgery, I was able to save my voice after thyroid cancer.I recently had to have my thyroid removed due to thyroid cancer. After hearing numerous people saying he was the best, I was able to get an appointment set up with him through another doctor. The other doctor thought surgery necessary, but since it was at the time just a suspicion of cancer and not confirmed, he insisted on seeing the slides and confirming the diagnosis in case he could just do a partial thyroid removal. (not knife-happy - I like that!)Once it was confirmed and he went in for surgery, he found that it had wrapped around a nerve to the vocal cord. He spent an extra 45min in surgery carefully scraping it off, and was able to save the nerve! Otherwise it would have been years of therapy to talk again. God is good!

Dr. Zirkle performed a thyroidectomy on my 10 year old daughter and he did a wonderful job. I would recommend Dr. Zirkle to anyone. The entire staff in his office are very friendly and wonderful people. I am so glad we chose Dr.Zirkle and I would again in a heartbeat.

Dr. Zirkle was very professional, self-confident and caring. I went into surgery knowing he knew exactly what he was doing.Would I recomment Dr. Zirkle? Absolutely..
