Dr. Phani Rajakumari Nimmagadda, MD

I wish I can give less than one star. This woman is running Dr. Learners practice into the ground. Totally unprofessional. I came in complaining about my lymph node and an earache she didn't even touch my neck or look in my ear or look in my throat. She said drink citrus and sent me on my way. A refill for a prescription was never processed for a seperate issue. A day later I call back at 11 a.m. and ask to speak to the doctor because the pain is becoming too severe in my ear and lymph node. They left an Urgent Message for the doctor and promised me that that she would call me back. I called three more times to ensure I would get a call back and I made sure they were there until 5. When I didn't hear back I showed up in person at 4:30 at the office and the doctor was already gone. The ladies at the front desk who I can't really hold accountable for this unprofessional doctor called her up told her what was going on and she basically said there's nothing she could do and she… would not get on the phone and speak to me. Stay away from this doctor at all cost and if anyone go to this practice please let them know they are not going to be getting the service that they should receive.

Professional, kind, thoughtful with really friendly office staff. Have been seeing her for more than a decade.

It's getting worse and worse in this office.. Terribly crowded. Doctor doesn't seem to care. Talks about not getting money from the insurance companies has to double patient load. No longer will call you with test results. Have to wait for notification from lab and the call office for an appointment to discuss results. It's been six days since my tests and haven't heard anything. Can't get b12. It's been six months or more since my last shot

I was able to get an appointment for the same day that I called. I should have known that this was a bad sign. I had copies of prior blood work with me. I proceeded to tell the doctor that only two tests were done, by the endocrinologist I waited three months to see, to rule out hypothyroidism. When Dr. Nimmagadda said that, all I needed was two tests, I became upset. I had been SO fatigued, and frustrated with the lack of help over the past couple of years. I was at the point at which I could no longer function. After only taking my height and weight, Dr. Nimmagadda, informed me that I was clinically depressed. She knew this since she was accepted into medical school at age 16, and has been practicing for over 30 years. I was given an RX for a NEW antidepressant, that I would never take, even if I were depressed. Luckily, I was able to get an appointment with another endocrinologist, who diagnosed me with secondary hypothyroidism. I, also, found a new internist, who… agreed with that assessment. She also said that I definitely did not fit the profile of someone who is clinically depressed. Thank goodness I did not give up, or worse yet, take a poorly tested antidepressant for no reason!

#1) she allowed a "kid" to come into the examining room with the medical assistant, dressed VERY casually (shorts, belly shirt..) who was clearly not instructed to introduce herself and why she was there. Luckily all she did was weigh my daughter, but had no idea how to do even that. (BTW, the Medical Assistant was very nice)#2) Dr. Nimmigada walked into the room with barely a nod of the head and started to examine my daughter without even introducing herself (this was our first visit). Then proceeded to listen to her heart and lungs, asked her ONE question about drug usage, had an EKG done by her asst, and that was it. Didn't even ask us WHY we were there which was to get a referral for a neurologist as well as establish care. She was unfriendly, clearly did not want to be there.

Dr. Nimmagadda is an excellent PCP.She is very knowledgeable, friendly and is very accessible. She gives attention to details, and answers all your questions patiently. Her office staff also are very friendly, and respond promptly to your requests. I would definitely recommend her to anyone in need of a PCP.She gives appointments during lunch-hour and in Saturdays, which makes it easy for the working people to go to the appointments. (Her office is in around <10 mts commute from Hauppauge/Commack industrial area, and <= 20mts commute from Bohemia/Great River industrial areas.)Enjoy your visit with Dr. Nimmagadda.
