Dr. Philbert T Yau, MD

My family has been seeing Dr Yau since 2008. He is a wonderful doctor! He is very engaging with my daughters when asking about health concerns, never rushes you out of the office, and answers all our questions.

I agree with some of the other reviewers. He is an uncaring doctor who doesn't take the time to find out what the patient is actually going through. Also, he has a horrible, rude and inept receptionist scheduling appointments. I would not recommend to anyone.

After reading some of these reviews, I'm not sure we are talking about the same Doc! I find him to be very friendly, concerned, not in a rush at all, always willing to listen and looks me in the eye when he talks to me. He is not quick to send me to a specialist, and I'm okay with that. I would rather try other things before being cut or put in the hospital. I like him very much.

Dr Yau is the worst Dr I have had in my entire life! I went for an annual physical and asked him to look at a lump on my cheek. He ignored my concern and instead grossly misdiagnosed as a “brain tumor or stroke”. This created much anxiety and expense with follow-up MRI and additional medical professional visits. After all the tests for his misdiagnosis, he informed me the MRI was “All Clear” and was not a brain tumor or stroke, but ignored the lump in my cheek. After seeing another medical professional, that Dr immediately diagnosed a cancerous tumor off the same MRI tests which I had surgery, chemo and radiation to remedy. Dr Yau is arrogant and DOES NOT listen to his patient concern, leading to a misdiagnosis and unnecessary tests. He also double charged for subsequent office visits and preventative medicine visit in same appointments! I’m finding a new professional Dr who listens to the patient and whom I can trust.

I will not recommend Dr. Yau. He is arrogant, pushes for unnessary appointments, is dis-honest. If you need test results, he lets his staff call you. The staff will not be able to provide you with answers to all your questions. The way to get the answers to your own health questions is to make another appointment. He creates unnessary anxiety about possible health issues. If you want to have a say in your own health, do not go to this doctor.

The worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. Completely unprofessional, did not believe me or try to understand my medical history, dismissive and arrogant. Would not recommend or ever return to the that office again.

Dr. Yau is very kind and conscientious, and very thorough. We are always able to get an appointment within a few days and never have to wait in the waiting room for very long. He has never misdiagnosed anything and is patient and thorough when answering our questions. My husband and I are most pleased with the care he gives us.

My husband, our three children, and I have been seeing Dr. Yau for about 5 years now. Shortly after we moved to the area I had some health problems and was misdiagnosed elsewhere. I found his office through our insurance website, and he examined me, knew exactly what was wrong, and started treatment within 24 hrs. We absolutely love him and his staff. He always listens to me and my concerns, and is very thorough. He is also great with our kids and they love visiting his office (except when they need shots ;) ). He has also taken the time to call us well after hours to check in if we have been ill. Dr. Yau is a great doctor and we are so glad to have found him!

Major misdiagnosis....he diagnosed me as being constipated, even when x-rays showed I wasn't. I actually had a very serious C-Diff infection. He does not listen to the patients. Pretty poor doctor....

Be aware! This doctor shows little regard for patients. Check your Explanation of Benefits carefully as he will bill you and your insurance company not only for an office visit but also for preventative care despite the fact that he'll spend very little time with you. We won't go back.
