As I'm writing, I'm crying out of anger, frusteration, & confusion. Dealing with this office for over 7 months has been confusing & frustrating. The receptionist, Mika, is hard to communicate with due to the language barrier. She & the office manager talk over you when you try to handle your business. As said, I've been dealing with them for a long time. I need work done on my front teeth. First, in the winter or spring she changed my appointments without giving me options. After, she told me that their periodontists are out-of-network (EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE LISTED.) & I'm going to have to pay out-of-pocket for my work. They also insisted that I get work done on my back tooth, something that didn't need to be done right away because it wasn't hurting & not showing like my front teeth. Most offices insist on these things because they're out for the money. Today I went in for my appointment for the work on my front teeth. They called me at least 5 times in the afternoon when I… was trying to leave, to talk about the co-pay. Before the quarantine, they quoted me $1,800. Today they quoted me $4,150 because I need porcelain! Mika finally gave me her manager after my repeated insisting. I eventually agreed to the price. I badly need it done. $1,800 was something that was AGREED UPON BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT, & they could've spoken to me IN THE OFFICE so that I can arrive on time. Also because of their repeated phone calls, I didn't have time to eat! So I ate an apple in transit & finished it in front of the office for social distancing. When I entered, I was met with the receptionist & hygienist. The hygienist angrily told me that I need to reschedule. He was red in the face with no mask. He kept antagonizing & calling me names by waiving "goodbye" at me, & making rude comments like, "Now I have to be your babysitter?" when I said that if he had an issue with my trying to finish my apple outside the office, he should stick his head out & tell me to come in. (I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE HYGENISTS! WHY DID HE EVEN NEED TO BE A PART OF THIS?!) I was going to accept the reschedule but I was trying to express my opinion on why it wasn't fair that I had to reschedule-reasons mentioned above. He yelled at me accusing me of being rude. I was still calm at that point. He then threatened the police against me. You threaten with the police when you feel your life is in danger, not as a form of intimidation! Immediately following the threat, Dr. Bonelli met me in the lobby, red in the face & flailing his arms, to tell me that I should find another dentist, saying, "You don't just walk in & be seen." He refused to see me. In an effort to diffuse the situation which escalated very quickly with these 2 individuals, I asked for the office manager who I spoke with on the phone earlier that day. They refused to find or inform her. She came out on her own. Any confusion that day regarding the price & service from Mika, she & I fixed. So I wanted her to come out & deescalate the confrontation from the hygienist & Dr. Bonelli. However, she then went in the back with Dr. Bonelli & came out to tell me that since he's the boss, there's nothing she can do. I was threatened once again by Dr. Bonelli & the hygienist. So I left. The office manager did not even offer to transfer my paperwork elsewhere or suggest another office like they're supposed to do. So now I'm left with the work that still needs to be done. As I'm standing on the corner writing this, I can see the 2 leaving and their faces are still red. Judging from their behavior during this incident, I would say that Dr. Bonelli & his hygienist could have unstable personalities & could be in need of anger management assistance. While I'm still upset that this happened, I'm happy that I saw it before they started working on my teeth because I would be afraid that they would make a catastrophic mistake or could hurt me more resulting from their anger, & it would still be at my cost. No one deserves to be treated this way no matter what they say or do.
