Dr. Philip Scott Meaker, MD

I have always been very satisfied with the care received by Dr. Meaker. The office staff have also been very polit and helpful when I have called on the phone or have been in the office.

I am 100% satisfied with with the treatment I received from Dr. Meaker and the entire staff. He is very thorough and answered all my questions.

i would recommend Dr. Meaker, although it is good to discuss what you expect up front with him. He is thourough and will answer questions for you , but is extremely detached. You warm up to him as time goes on. he does loosen up. I never have any problems ordering my medication and the office staff is way more efficient than others I have been too.

Very unfrieldly staff (especially the office manager). Mr. Meaker is "okay" but I would have a hard time recommending him. However due to the unfriendly staff our family has found a new doctor (and we are very happy we made the move).

I was the patient of one of Dr. Meaker's partners. I needed a prescription renewed. My doctor wasn't in when the request came from the pharmacy so Dr. Meaker handled it. When I picked the medicine up I noticed that it was a 60 day supply, not the usual 90 days. I called the office. They were rather indignant that I would question them about what the doctor had done. I was told that Dr. Meaker only writes for 30 days for patients that aren't his. I re-stated that it was 60 days. They argued with me (as if I can't count?!). I then asked why Dr. Meaker didn't just look at my records . I was told that Dr. Meaker doesn't read patients' records before writing prescriptions!!!! After I hung up I realized why I had gotten a 60 day supply rather than the 30 days Dr. Meaker intended to write. I take only 1/2 tablet a day. Clearly Dr. Meaker did not bother to read the accompanying dosage directions and just wrote 30. Had he read them he would have realized that a 30 day supply would be 15… tablets, not 30.I later learned from the pharmacy when I went to see just how they handle renewals that Dr. Meaker had also changed the medication. It was caught by the pharmacist filling the prescription who called Dr. Meaker's office and got it corrected. I also learned that the prescription was handled electronically. Since patient records at the office are also electronic my records were literally at Dr. Meaker's finger tips when he did the renewal. It would only have meant a few seconds of additional work to pull up the records and see that I normally get a 90 day supply. It is extremely dangerous for a doctor to write prescriptions without looking at the medical records and even more so to change the medication when he doesn't know anything about the patient. I have changed doctors completely to another office as I do not want to take the risk of being treated by Dr. Meaker should my doctor not be available.

At first I thought his bedside manner was terrible, but after getting to know him I've realized he is just all business, which is fine with me. I my children there for pediatric care and he is very through. I would def. recommend him.

I have had very good care from Dr.Meaker and the staff at Victor Health Associates. He has always taken time to answer any questions and to explain diagnoses. When I have had surgery or other procedures from specialists, he has always followed up on my care in person or by phone. I would recommend him.

I would like to caution anyone who is seeing this doctor currently or is considering him. I have received incompetant care for the past year. At my physical last year I asked for a chest x-ray as I smoke cigarrettes and have always had them at previous physicals. He said I didn't need one if I had no symptoms and he wouldn't order one. this year i had a cough that wouldn't go away. He ordered anti-biotics and they didn't work, then ordered stronger anti-biotics. I asked for an xray and he said that isn't the normal procedure until after this second round of meds. I insisted and it was found that I had COPD. I would have quit smoking a year prior to this if he had allowed the chest xray at my physical. I also asked last week if he would write a script for psychiatric meds I need while I was trying to find a dr. for that who took my new insurance, medicare. all who take it have 3 mo waiting lists. He refused knowing that I would run out without his help. Do not go to this doctor.
