Dr. Philip G Perkins, DO

This was by far the worst experience I have had with a healthcare professional. Dr. Perkins was unprofessional (talked about other patients during my appointment), did not listen to what concerns I had, and did not seem to be interested in caring for me as a patient; only about getting through the appt to obtain a check. I needed help with sever anxiety. If you do not fit into a neat little box, he will not treat you. He made me feel like complete garbage about myself for something I can not control. The whole appt all he did was repeat medications that I can’t take, or ones that he didn’t think would work. Not once did he offer a treatment plan or even ask what my thoughts were about everything. He tried making me have my appt out in the waiting room(where his receptionist could hear everything and everyone walking by could just see right in) I’m assuming because he was scared of COVID? When I told him I would feel more comfortable in his office he seemed annoyed and burdened by… the fact that I didn’t want to broadcast my mental health issues for everyone walking by his office door, and didn’t want his receptionist listening in. Extremely unprofessional. Dr. Perkins was not at all what a psychiatrist should be. RUN in the other direction if you are looking for a provider who will actually listen to you.
