Dr. Philip Courtney Ptacin, MD

We had dr placing for our doctor for about 40 years, he treated our bumps and bruises, cured our aches and pains, and with his gentle sense of humor relieved our fears. He not only gave us the promise of a healthier life but a longer more fulfilling one as well. Miss him. Wish he were here.

Dr. Ptacin actually cares. There is a reason there is a wait to see him, he has been in Battle Creek for 35 years and nearly everyone in the city wants to see him. He is kind, stays with you longer than he needs to and your health is his #1 goal. I also like how his care extends beyond just what I come in for, he also talks to me about whether I'm doing things like exercising, finding "me time", etc to stay healthy. I have been seeing him since I was a child and will never change!

A great Dr. and very courteous staff. There can be a wait if they are running behind and he doesn't sit and mince words so it can feel like he is rushing but in the end I have always been diagnosed correctly and he gets me in and out.

VERY uncaring and lacking in compassion and especially lacking in tact.

I've been a patient of Ptacin and other Day One docs for 30 years, and would not switch! From getting my scared teenage self thru my first gyn exam, to delivering my 2 kids, to my menopause-- Dr Ptacin and his team always listen closely to my concerns, and treat me and my kids with respect and dignity. Truly caring individuals!

I found Dr. Ptacin dismissive, disrespectful, and patronizing.I have been going to DayOne for years but lately, I've noticed a decline in their service. This was especially apparent with my visit to Dr. Ptacin. I have been having kidney pain for over a month and was desperate for help. However DayOne's earliest appointment was in a week. I patiently waited for that appointment; I made lists of all the pains and attached dates. I listed all the OTC medications I had tried. I attempted to be pro-active. Then the day of my appointment came and Dr. Ptacin came in. He seemed very jolly and friendly. He seemed to listen to my issues. Then when I finished, he got up and (literally) patted me on the head and told me that I would be fine and that were was nothing to worry about. Then he walked out.Later I got a copy of his notes and not only did he leave out a significant portion of my symptoms but he then diagnosed me with something that has the OPPOSITE symptoms. Although DayOne… advertises about its "compassionate, individualized care", no one called me back - even after five messages.
