Dr. Philip Seth Schoenfeld, MD

My experience with Dr. Philip Schoenfeld, his office staff, and his nurses was nothing short of excellent. Not only were they timely and complete in all of their communication but they made me feel as though I was his/their most important patient.

Dr. Schoenfeld saved my life. For a few weeks in September 2022, I had what I thought was a post-nasal drip. Despite various OTC treatments, it did not go away. A few days before going overseas for three weeks, I finally decided to have an ENT doctor look at it. I saw Dr. Schoenfeld. He saw that there was a lump of some sort at the back of my tongue, and immediately arranged for an otolaryngologist, Arjun Joshi, M.D., at George Washington Univ. Medical Center, to see me the next morning. Dr. Joshi thought the lump didn’t look cancerous, but arranged for me to have an MRI the next day. The test didn’t reveal a problem, but when I returned, I saw Dr. Joshi again, and this time he felt that the lump had become cancerous. He arranged for a PET/CT scan the next day. It showed three tumors. He took two biopsies and the results came back – Merkel cell carcinoma, stage 4. This is the type of cancer that killed Jimmy Buffett. Fortunately, I have been treated with infusions of… pembrolizumab (Keytruda) that – so far – have rendered the tumors undetectable by PET/CT scan. While it’s too soon to say if I am cured, it is clear that if Dr. Schoenfeld had not been suspicious about the lump and taken aggressive action to arrange an appointment the very next day, I almost surely would not have lived to tell the tale. Thank you, Doctor Schoenfeld!!!

Review Tips In 2015 infected with MRSA in nose from hospital that collapsed right nostril. Had surgery in 2016 which failed, tried another surgeon in 2018 that disfigured my nose, in 2020 once again tried a different surgeon to fix it, but still failed to make it look normal. After feeling absolutely hopeless and depressed, reached out to someone that recommended Dr. Schoenfeld for having amazing results on the most difficult cases. Dr. Schoenfeld performed my 4th revision rhinoplasty on 6/16/23, he completely rebuilt my nose, I'm still healing but already looks fantastic!

Dr. Schoenfeld is miracle worker! I cannot stress enough what he has done for me. I am indebted to him for giving me my life back. I could not breathe through my nose at all for over a year and as a result, could not exercise or sleep through the night. He assured me that immediately after my surgery I would be able to breathe, and that is exactly what happened! Since my surgery I have had the best sleep, and I wake up feeling refreshed. For anyone suffering (because I did) there is hope and Dr. Schoenfeld is there to do it!

I had a rhinoplasty, septoplasty, and turbinate reduction performed by Dr. Schoenfeld in 2014. While the result of 2 of those 3 procedures was good, the turbinate reduction ended up being unnecessary, and lead to Empty Nose Syndrome, which is irreversible and currently untreatable. It has SEVERELY decreased my quality of life over the last 5 years. Dr. Schoenfeld did not inform me of any of the possible risks of a turbinate reduction, or really even look into my nose to verify that I really needed one. I was a fool to agree to the procedure, but I believe he was also grossly negligent to perform it on me. Read about ENS before you agree to a turbinate reduction.

Dr Schoenfeld is a phenomenal doctor! He is incredibly professional and direct about how he can help a patient. If he cannot help he will be honest about it and try to refer you to someone that can. He views surgery as a last alternative and will not perform it if he doesn't think it to be a viable solution. He performed surgery on my nose and has changed my life for the better. My breathing is marginally better and my overall life has benefited as a result. He was very comforting throughout the entire process and made himself available to all questions and concerns, and I had a lot. I cannot say enough good things about him as a doctor and a person. I highly recommend him to anybody that has issues with their nose.

Dr. Philip Schoenfeld is one of the most professional, pleasant and effective medical professionals I have ever encountered. He goes well beyond impeccable medical attention with optimal results to providing excellent referrals to specialists in other fields. Under his care, I am confident that I am in the best of hands and need not doubt his recommended courses of action. I cannot recommend Dr. Schoenfeld highly enough.

My son had an inadequate repair of a nose fracture that occurred while he was at Boy Scout camp. Dr. Schoenfeld was able to quickly schedule him for surgery and set the multiple fractured bones. Now two months after the accident, his nose is straight and he breathes through both nostrils. From my review of the medical literature, it is uncommon to have this good of an outcome after a serious nose fracture. We were very pleased with Dr. Schoenfeld's surgical expertise and his bedside manner.

I've been seeing Dr. Schoenfeld for over 10 years now...he has fixed my deviated septum as well as took my tonsils out and helped me with any other ailment that I've come across (e.g. sinus infections). He is not only professional, but likable and actually wants to take care of you. He also has a great staff that has also been there for quite some time which is always great to see after you haven't been there in a while. He is a great doctor and wouldn't go anywhere else!

Dr. Schoenfeld helped me to address medical issues that I should have fixed long ago. He performed rhinoplasty, septoplasty, and reduction of the inferior turbinates. All of his procedures were outstanding, and his knowledge, skill, and experience are apparent in the results. Dr. Schoenfeld simply does beautiful work.
