Dr. Philip Seo, MD

Dr. Seo was extremely dismissive of my symptoms, likely because I'm a young female patient. He was clearly not interested in having a conversation with me as he talked non-stop during the appointment and immediately wrote off my abdominal pain accompanying my vasculitis as PMS. When I told him that I track my cycles and the timing of my pain did not line up with menstration, he said "we'll have to agree to disagree". He disagreed with when I got my period... This ultimately led to a delayed diagnosis of an abdominal obstruction that required surgery. I would NOT recommend patients see Dr. Seo if they have any other options for providers.

Dr. Seo is the best. He knows so much, keeps up with the literature and has been incredibly helpful in helping me manage my vasculitis and has assisted my rheumatologist back home (I live a plane ride away). He is very frank and not afraid to tell you what he thinks, which is what I appreciate. If you prefer someone who's really "touchy feely" then you might think he's a little gruff, but try to look past it. He is a gem.

Drive 5 hours for wife to see him. He treats both her GPA and Psoriatic Arthritis. His knowledge is great. He is caring, straight forward and takes time to answer any questions we have. He always responds to e-mail through the "Patient Portal" at JH if we have questions or concerns. The only down side is he is 5 hours from home. Highly recommend.

Dr. SEO is great. A GPA (Wegener's expert) He doesn't beat around the bush, tries to treat as aggressively as necessary. I trust his judgement. JHU is large and often you become just a number and items get misplaced or phone calls not made etc. But the care is top notch.

I highly recommend Dr. Seo. Very knowledgeable, spends a lot ot time answering questions, and is very active in getting colleagues involved in my healthcare. I visit about every six months and have been very satisfied with my healthcare. As appointment scheduling usually involves several doctors, it gets a little tricky doing this long distance. I live in Texas.

This doctor was extremely rude to my wife and I was very angry, I did not go back again
