Dr. Philip John Serna, MD

Dr Serna is great and I've had him as my doctor for several years. I first met Dr Serna a when he was serving in the Quick Care. I usually don't choose my doctors from quick care as they are very busy and generally short with you because they have so many patients to see, but Dr Serna was different and diagnosed me the first time and took the time needed for my visit. Dr Serna takes his time with you and answers all your questions, he also has you do an abundance of tests to make sure that he has the correct diagnosis. He is genuinly concerned with your health and will tell you the things that you are doing correctly and will definitely steer you down the right path when you are not. Dr Serna's office is very busy and the only "con" I have is that you always have to wait on your appointment even when you are on time. I will let that slide due to the excellent care he and his staff provide and the extra time he will spend with you when needed. If you are looking for a great doctor, look… no further you will not be disappointed.

I'm surprised by the negative reviews here related to Dr. Serna. I have been a patient for three years, and have always felt he explained himself, and treated me respectfully and with compassion. He has helped me with various health issues, and made good suggestions regarding referral physicians. If I had a question, he listened and explained to my satisfaction.

Never have I waited so long to see Dr to only be treated rudely and abruptly with no empathy. My health concern meant nothing to Dr. He totally dismissed me and made no attempt to help me with my concerns. He was in a hurry to get out of the room. I felt nothing was resolved. I would not recommend this Dr to anyone who has a real medical issue. Look further for your own sake.

i went for a recent visit and was told that i was overwhelming him with all my medical issues. Dr was rude,condescending, unkind and spoke to me with a very sharp tongue. I have been seeing this doctor for about three years now. He has been this way to me most of the time. occasionally he will be nice, but most of the time not. I have always given him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he is having a bad day or maybe he is just stressed out,or maybe i asked him too many questions. i came to the conclusion that he is just that way. i am seeking another doctor, perhaps one that is not so impatient,will listen to me and not be overwhelmed by me. I would not refer this doctor to anyone , nor will i give him the benefit of the doubt anymore.

Dr.Serna was my Doctor for 14 years. Recently i lost my health insurance and could no longer go to that facility.Dr.Serna always spent quality time with me,answered my questions throughly,especially when i was very nervous.Many a times i was a beside my self and had every thing in my head wrong with me ,but Dr.Serna always managed to make me comfortable and felt a lot better after i had spoken to him. I am so sorry I had to change Drs due to my insurance.My husband was also a patient and he took excellent care of him to.I would recommened him highly,if you are looking for a compasionate doctor.

Dr. Serna is not my regular physician. I saw him during a visit to Quick Care. Office staff was wonderful and his nurse explained all that he did not. He did not explain why he was ordering tests and when I asked questions, talked to me as if disciplining a child, telling me that if I stop talking and asking questions and just listen, I could understand the what he was telling me. If only that were true. I asked questions because he did not explain himself. He was rude, condescending and vague. I also believe that he ordered unnecessary tests that took up several hours of my day and came back negative, as I suspected they would. (Technicians were surprised I had to have a CT scan based on my symptoms.) If he is the doctor on staff when I next visit quick care, I will go elsewhere. I have been a patient at this particular medical group for 15 years and have NEVER been treated like this.
