Philipp Hendrix, MD, PhD

Dr. Hendrix is a neurosurgeon who specializes in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery. He is an assistant professor of neurosurgery in the Neuroscience Institute at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. He treats a variety of cerebrovascular pathologies including brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, dural arteriovenous fistulas, cavernous malformations, trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm, carotid artery disease, moyamoya, intra- and extracranial steno-occlusive disease and spinal vascular disorders. Dr. Hendrix also cares for patients with degenerative spine disease as well as general neurosurgical disorders.He attended Saarland University Faculty of Medicine in Germany, where he earned his medical degree and spent five years in the Department of Physiology conducting basic science research. In Germany, he is board-certified in neurosurgery and is an associate professor of neurosurgery at Saarland University. As first and senior author, he has published numerous articles in the field of cerebrovascular, endovascular and general neurosurgery. He acts as a peer-reviewer for several premier medical journals.Dr. Hendrix speaks English and German. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, climbing, reading and playing chess.
