Dr. Phillip Kelley Bobo, MD

The entire staff at Dr. Bobo’s office are first class. First you fill out your medical history, allergies, and what your issue is today, etc, so that the health professionals know the basic situation before you’re seen. Then you’re seen by an intake nurse who takes vitals, weight, BP and necessary info. Then you’re taken to a room to wait for Dr. Bobo (who REVIEWS your chart and intake info before you’re seen), so when he comes in, he can quickly evaluate what needs to happen. I had an allergic reaction to sunscreen and I have no other health issues. He walked in, could clearly see the rash and said, “yep, that’s a sunscreen reaction” (he’s got 30+ years experience), and then said you’ll get a prednisone shot, and a prescription for prednisone and an Rx steroid cream. Then after about 5 minutes, a nurse came in with the shot. Someone here complained about lack of time with doc, but you have to add up ALL the health professionals times...not just the doc’s time. And since he… already knows the situation, he doesn’t have to often spend a lot of time in the room. Certainly if he had to check heart/breathing/throat, or stitch someone up, etc, he would spend a LOT more time. But many cases are quick and easy once the the chart is written, the nurse has taken vitals, etc. Yes, often there probably are the same few things often prescribed, but that’s the case with most urgent care places as people come in with infections, allergic reactions, and need for stitches. However, when I went to Walmart for my Rx, the pharmacist said that he only sees my Rx from Bobo about 12 times a year. So he’s not just treating everyone the same. That’s ridiculous for that reviewer to imply. That reviewer claims to not have insurance yet claims to work as a pharm tech. That either is a lie, or she needs to change her job to one of the millions of pharmacies that provide health insurance.

Dr. Bobo is by far the worst doctor I’ve ever seen in my life. I have no insurance, his office visits are $95 each just to be seen. He walks in and DOES NOT EVEN EXAMINE YOU (I’ve been twice), and not once has he examined me at all. His bedside manners are terrible. I work at a pharmacy and have personally seen over and over and over again the EXACT same printouts that he hands out to patients with the same 3 drugs on them. He is a money man that just wants to get paid; he doesn’t care that something may actually be wrong and you have a child at home that could get sick with whatever you have. I wish he would’ve lost his fraud case in 2007 and not been allowed to practice any longer.

I haven’t been able to see Dr Bobo in a few years because of my insurance. If I could still see him I would for sure. Sooo many stories I could tell and others I have heard where Dr Bobo has gone above and beyond what many drs would do!!! I hope he never changes from the person he is! Dr Bobo is not your “run of the mill” doctor, he can “rock the boat “. All the things I loved and respected about him all these years!!!

Every time I've seen Dr Bobo he has been courteous, efficient and accurate in his diagnosis of my condition(s). I like that he actually treats me on the spot and usually gives me some sort of shot that helps immediately and prescriptions that are effective.

Amazing diagnostics - a truly gifted physician

Was extremely unhappy with Dr. visit. He walked in, did not say Hi!, or even introduce himself. When he came in the room he said "What are you here for" very, very unfriendly, would not even look at me, the patient. Of course he had some young Nurse with him, whom I guess he was trying to impress, which he is famous for. That is one of the reasons that got him fired from DCH Regional Medical Center, among other unethical practices! Will never go back!

My visits to Dr. Bobo are great. He and his staff are skilled and courteous.

This physician participates in the Drug Monitoring Program Alabama. HE WILL SHARE YOUR PERSONAL MEDICAL INFORMATION WITH THE STATE. This information is promulgated throughout the state. You, as a patient, have no access to it. This form of governmental intervention and monitoring must stop. Do not visit this doctor, if you'd private medical records are important to you.

He treated my daughter while she was a student at UA. She was diagnoised with lupus her sophmore year and refused to move home. He was wonderful with all the ups and downs of the entire year.

I have been seeing Dr Bobo for many years. He is the best doctor I have ever seen. He always treats whatever problem I'm having and I always feel so much better within a few hours. He is the best!
