Dr. Phillip Dale Challans, MD

Dr Challans is a super dr. With me he always took time to answer my questions, no matter how many I had. If I called after hours due to being sick, he was prompt in calling back and always made his own calls. I trusted him. Unfortunately he left to pursue another field of medicine that doesn’t require seeing patients and that is the patients loss.

I have been seeing Dr. Challens for a little over a year. He took me on an emergency basis, when my blood sugars suddenly spiked into the 400 range. He was very caring and compassionate that day and he has been my diabetes doctor ever since. I see him every three months and I always feel as though he cares enough to listen to my concerns. He is very good at explaining and guiding a patient to good health habits. I would recommend him to anyone looking for good diabetic care.

Dr.. Challans is a talented physician, with good personal qualities. He is attentive and takes time with his patients. He responds to questions and never seems to be in a hurry to get to his next parient.

I think Dr. Challens is a very good doctor, despite the wait. Once you get into the room a staff member comes in and asks a thousands of questions to make sure they have accurate info for the doctor. I have an insulin pump, and they download it or my meter for me so i don't have to take forever to write it down and keep track. They offer to go online and monitor my pump status with me if there's a problem I can't fix on my own. The staff is amazing and always seem to care, and are incredibly helpful. I've had major allergy/sinus problems and he recommended an ENT for me since i'm unfamiliar with Wichita doctors.
