Dr. Phillip Anson Low

I had waited about six months for an appointment with Mayo, and live in a far away state. I was pleased to be coming to such a world class facility with my problem. I read some less than flattering reviews of Dr Low on line and despite that, I thought I must go in without bias and hope the previous writers were only a blip on the radar screen. I rarely do reviews of any kind. However, Lo and Behold, the reviewers were spot on. I had two short visits with him and a few tests, for him to come up with an immediate diagnosis, and one that required only a cream to rub on. As far as compassionate bedside manner, don't look for much, for I found him cold and brisk in manner. His treatment is not befitting such a respected place as Mayo, and I left with little hope for the future. My advice would be to find another neurologist there. On the up side, I found the kindness and courtesy of ALL the staff to be simply outstanding. And there should be resounding praise for each and every one of… them. Thank you.

Despite reading these reviews prior to going to an appointment with this doctor and waiting six months for such, I decided they might be not entirely accurate or fair so I traveled to Mayo from afar; and I’m terribly sad to report my experience was very similar. Unattentive, abrupt and already convinced of his brilliant diagnosis and an unconvincing bedside manner not befitting an institution like Mayo. I wish they would read these comments. I never write such reviews but it’s important for people in pain to avoid this specialist. You’ll be short changed and have to pursue other options.

waited a year for my appointment, travelled across the country, and was treated very poorly by this doctor. received no help, and refused to even follow up about medication he prescribed. this doctor does not care about patients at all.

Will not return to Mayo Clinic and wish I hadn't wasted my time and emotional energy seeing Dr. Low. Dr. Low seemed nice at my first appointment, but then failed to explain any of my test results, failed to consider clinical symptoms, and blew me off at the end of my second appointment without offering any suggestions about my health issues. I actually wrote a letter complaining to Mayo Clinic about my experience, something I have never done before. I would give Dr. Low 0 stars if I could.

Dr. Low was dismissive, distracted and forced my symptoms into his pre-determined diagnosis (POTS). He clearly had not thoroughly reviewed my medical records prior to our appointment, and had consistently blown me off since my visit... unless Inanted to drive across the country again and up his billable hours. Poor excuse for a doctor. Mayo can do better for its patients.

Dr Low was nice enough but provided no additional insight to my disease. Complete waste of time seeing him.
