Dr. Zaun is a native of the Richmond, Virginia area. In 1984, Dr. Zaun graduated from Lee Davis High School in Mechanicsville, Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1988 from The North Carolina State University and thereafter received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Medical College of Virginia in 1992. Dr. Zaun opened his family practice in August 1992.
While at NC State, Dr. Zaun was a two-time baseball All-American and was the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of The Year in 1988. Nicknamed “Turtle†by his mother, most patients refer to him as Dr. Turtle.
Dr. Zaun was the recipient of the Fitzhugh Scholarship at MCV and taught in the dental clinic after graduation. He is committed to providing the best dental care for his patients and to meet all their dental needs.
Dr. Zaun has been married to Jennifer Lee Short since 1996 and they have three daughters together, Murphy, Harper and Ryann. When not in the office, Dr. …Zaun enjoys exercising and outdoor adventures with his family.
