Dr. Phyllis Anne W Cullen, MD

Dr. Cullen has been dealing with pain patients for a long time. She understands pain, the stigma some doctors have towards pain patients (viewed as druggies) and she address the person not just the symptom. She explains how pain can lead to a reduction in activity. Consequently, a pain patient becomes more isolated and that contributes to depression. I have found her to prescribe whatever it takes to help my pain. She does not rush me and I know she does not make money on my Medicare paid visits. It is rare to find a doctor that is both competent and empathetic. I give her a perfect 10!

There couldn't be a more caring, competent and compassionate doctor in the world than Dr. Phyllis Cullen. She has been my pain physician for the past 15 years. I wouldn't be alive today if it were not for her because I have RSD which was the result of an accident. She has worked absolute MIRACLES to ease my pain. Now, with a Morpheme pump and a Spinal Cord Stimulator, I live a pretty much normal life. She is just a great doctor and a true humanitarian.

This office is the last place you want to go if you're in intense intractable pain. There's not room on this page to describe how unfit this practice is so, just look up all the other reviews of Chico Pain Clinic and realize that these poor dis-satisfied souls represent only those people who had the strength to write a review probably less than 1 in 100. If your 18 year old dog were in pain they'd call her a "junky". When is this puritanical witch-hunt of drug hysteria going to end? People are really suffering as a result. Maybe this office's doctors don't understand pain because they have no spines themselves.

It is rare to find a knowledgeable physician with great bedside manners. Dr. Cullen can (and does) make the worst diagnosis sound hopeful. Her compassion is genuine and the time she gave me is above and beyond what is expected. In her spare time, (she must never sleep) she volunteers as an anesthesiologist in Third World countries. It is hard dealing with pain patients, but her patience and knowledge of new treatment options sets her apart from any physician you will ever meet.
