Dr. Phyllis Pennington, DO

Dr. Pennington was thorough, personable, knowledgable, down to earth, explains things well and took the time with me to address my issues. She not only explained why I needed the meds I'm taking, she showed me how they work in my body. I felt heard and understood.

I had a new patient visit with Dr. Pennington today and think she's wonderful. Very friendly, knowledgeable, down to earth, and I didn't feel rushed. It has been ages since I've found a doctor that I'm happy with. The staff was very friendly too which made it an all-around great experience. Thrilled to have found a great doctor here in Canon City!

After searching for a good doctor for several months, I have researched many doctors and checked them out on several health sites. One new doctor for Canon City is Dr Pennington. Among those doctors surveyed online, she came in at the bottom of the list of favorite doctors. She is becoming known as a doctor who has a difficult personality. She has a tendency to blow up, is overly assertive, loves to hear herself talk, has no listening skills, has little tact and concern for her patients, and really needs to learn some positive ways of relating to patients. Dealing with difficult doctors such as her, is a concern for many patients who struggle to find good health care. The major focus of health care should not be a competition of ego. How do we deal with a difficult personality or doctor? Understand people have well established behaviors. Maybe she has some personal problems. Use a little empathy. Don't take things personally.
