Dr. Phylliss M Chappell, MD

Meet Dr. Phyllis Chappell who is presently the medical director at the Hamilton Vein Center in Bellaire, Texas. She began her journey into the field of medicine at Smith College receiving B.A. in 1976. While at Smith College she earned a Phi Beta Kappa Key. Dr. Chappell went on the graduate from Case Western Reserve
University School of Medicine in 1980. Dr. Chappell initially completed a residency in Family Practice at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She entered the United States Air Force serving as a flight surgeon before entering a Radiology Residency at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. She had the honor and privilege to serve as chief resident in both programs.Her formal training ended after finishing a Neuroradiology Fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center in 1992.

Dr. Chappell is board certified in both Family Medicine and Radiology with added qualifications in Neuroradiology. In addition to being licensed …in the state of Texas, she also holds licenses to practice medicine in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and
California. Dr. Chappell has published articles in peer reviewed journals and made presentations along with scientific exhibits at various medical conferences and society meeting.

Dr. Chappell is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and the proud mother of two daughters, Michaela age 19 and Elysse age 18. She enjoys reading, dance, yoga, photography and working out at the gym. Her community interest involves being a sponsor of the Sisters Network Breast Cancer Walk/Run and USO along with supporting Doctors Without Borders. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
