Very humble doctor very Hands-On with information about weight loss surgery.

The care given to me from Dr.Gorecki and his PA Khrystina was excellent. I love NYPresbyterian and the staff. Dr.Gorecki did not recommend the surgery for me right away. He had me go through a few things first then he said ok, I'll do it for you. Everybody has different experiences, I highly recommend you find out what's best for you then proceed from there.

Perhaps it would be helpful to ask how many patients have died having surgery from this man. I personally know one that has died and one that had a stroke during surgery with this doctor. Maybe you should consider diet and exercise instead of listening to this man. Because this man gets paid whether you die or not.

Dr. Gorecki doesn't operate on a patient unless he feels it will be in the best interest of the patient. He has alot of compassion and understanding. He is also very patient with all his patients. When I was sitting in the waiting room everyone I spoke with said the same things that I am thinking. He is magnificent.

My first impression of Dr. Gorecki was a magnificent onr. Dr. Gorecki has a brilliant personality. He is funny and that puts you at ease.

My experience was awful. Weeks...close to a month to get an appointment. The average waiting time to be seen is 2 to 3 hours. Yessssss HOURS. I think he overbooks and it feels more like an assembly line. I went on an extended lunch from work; it took close to 2 hours to be seen. This did not include commuting time. I then switched to Saturdays....make no other plans its about 2 hours as well. I tried a weekday prior to having to be to work at 1 pm. Appointment was at 9 am Dr. Gorecki and I walked in the building together, rode the elevator together. I was not seen until close to 12 pm.

Wonderful surgeon. Big drawback is his staff, particularly Jessie. She helps with paperwork for insurance approval and she schedules pre-op testing and more. All of my phone encounters with her have been compromised by her rudeness. As brought up in a recent support group, obese patients deserve to be treated respectfully at ALL times. We are not scapegoats for an irritable secretary.

Dr. Gorecki performed a Gastric bypass surgery on my mother. She woke up after the surgery half paralyzed having had a stroke while under anestesia. The doctors and hospitals didnt notice and were ready to send her home like that. Not convinced that these surgeries are a bad idea my sister 5 years later ,after being convinced to have this surgery, by people who call themselves doctors, gets the Vertical Sleeve also from Dr. Gorecki. She died 3 weeks after the surgery from blood clots that she got from the surgery. I watched my 38 year old sister die over a 3 week period of pain and suffering and various surgeries attempting to save her life. I never met Dr. Gorecki because he never showed his face even to inform himself or the family of my sister's situation. I wonder to myself if he feels any remorse when he is driving his boat paid for by these operations. A stroke and a death. Who is next?
