Poemlarp Mekraksakit, MD

Poemlarp Mekraksakit, MD, is a board-certified nephrologist specializing in acute kidney injury, dialysis and glomerular diseases. After earning a medical degree at Phramongkutklao College of Medicine at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand, Dr. Mekraksakit completed an internal medicine residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. Dr. Mekraksakit then completed his nephrology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he also received additional subspecialty training in glomerular diseases. During his time there, he served as an Instructor of Medicine. He also contributed to dozens of peer-reviewed articles and abstracts and has special research interest in glomerular diseases.
Patient’s best interests are paramount, and treatment decisions should be made through a shared decision-making process involving the patient, their family, and the care team—not solely by providers.
