Dr. Polina R Nosel, MD

I recently changed my insurance policy and chose Polina Nosel as my PCP. I have gone to her office for two visits. Calling her office to make an appointment was impossible. When I did go to the office there is only one person working with the doctor. She is a MA doing the job of others that are no longer there. She is rude and makes excuses for everything. The phone is never answered and the voicemail is always full. During my first visit I was examined by the physician who was trying to listen to my heart and breath sounds but could not hear anything. I turned the diaphragm around on her stethoscope so she could hear. I was sent for lab work and signed medical record release forms. I was called to schedule an appointment to discuss my lab results and my records. I arrive at the office and while waiting another individual comes in and states to the MA that she has been trying to call for 2 months to schedule an appointment for her mother and that she took the day off to come and check… if the office had closed. I was seen by the doctor and found out that none of my records had arrived at the office. I called the receiving doctors and inquired as to when the request had been received. One stated that they sent the document requested 3 days prior via fax. The other doctor stated that they had just received it and it was being sent out that day. I went in to see the doctor. I expressed dissatisfaction with the service and the inability to contact my PCP or even leave a message and also suggested an answering service be acquired. This was disregarded and I was just given more excuses, such as I have not been able to go through all the faxes. (Not even while I was there to look for my records for my appointment.) I was told I should see a specialist. I asked if they recommend any one specific. I was given a printout of the insurance directory. I was not given a referral or any direction. I made an appointment with the specialist. I spoke to the MA to confirm the lab results and told her that I had an appointment. She did not tell me that a referral was needed. I arrive at my appointment and am asked for a referral. The front desk person and I call Dr. Polina Nosel's office for 2 hours with no answer. The front desk person faxes over a stat request. We call the insurance company for an authorization and are told they cannot do that. They try to reach the doctor's office as well with no luck. Finally the MA at Dr. Nosel's office answers the phone and I request for the referral to be faxed over and I am told that she does not know if she can get to it. I request to speak to the doctor. I am placed on hold for about a half hour then get disconnected. I leave the specialists office and am on my way to Dr. Polina Nosel's office. I get through and tell her I am on my way to pick up the referral or a prescription because my appointment was rescheduled. She says in a nasty tone that what I am requesting will not work and that she already faxed over the referral. A couple of days later I get a certified letter telling me to find another PCP. I would never recommend for anyone to see Dr. Polina Nosel or her office staff.

Gina, the receptionist/assistant, could not have been nicer. People like her are hard to find. Especially here in Miami. Dr. Nosel was very kind and understanding. Her exam was very basic. Wish she would have been a bit more thorough with my father (patient). But, I had several requests regarding paperwork, medicine and she was very helpful. Good energy and good people are very important to me and my dad. We left feeling very satisfied. I feel like reviews reflect on the patient as much as the doctor. People try to be nice, patient, thoughtful and understanding and good things will come your way. Namaste.
