Dr. Pomilla Chhabra Kumar, MD

I have been or shall I say was a patient for 25 years. This physician used to be attentive and mindful. She lost a key player in her office a few years back and the office went into a shambles. I never received test results or a call back so I always looked out for myself, however I did stick by this physician as she was going through a lot in her personal life, and she was a good physician at one time.During my annual exam this year, she listened to none of my concerns. She did not complete a full exam on me. Wrote on my labs and walked out the door. I get all my testing done and get a call to come into the office. Over the years I got smart and was able to view all test results online as no one from the office ever called me. So to get a call to come in to discuss results concerned me as I did see one test did change from the 3 yrs ago. I was expecting a script to be written or some kind of counseling. So after an hour plus wait, she cannot locate my labs, didn't know I was taken… supplements, told me I had osteopenia, which I already knew. Told me don't wait for labs handed me a pieces of paper and walked out the door. I get a call later in the day saying my labs were normal which I knew. I asked what the purpose of the visit was? The person who called me had no idea. She put me hold came back and said to discuss a test result. That could not be done over the phone? I was not counseled or give a script or told something I didn't already know. I asked for the manager who was not in but she did call me back a week later and told me it was normal for this office to someone in to discuss result. Really?? since when?? been many years and I am a long time patient and I would like my co pay returned to me or I would not return as a patient again. She told me that is fine go some place else. 25 years with this physician and I can go someplace else?? So a week later I realized no one discussed my colonoscopy with me so I called back as I wanted it discussed since I already paid for the visit. Clinical told me she didn't have the results, I replied its been two weeks? She replied where did you go? My reply was where your office referred me. She placed me on hold for 10 minutes. I couldn't wait and hung up. Dr Kumar needs to take a look at how her office is being run and how she is responding to patients. He daughter is a physician there now also. I am hope she doesn't follow you through this transition of not carrying about patients and milking the insurance company for an extra office visit. I took time off work, and lost 35.00 for nothing.

This office is horrible. The staff seems nice but seems under staffed as it always takes WEEKS to get things resolved. Dr. Kumar doesn't remember what she wanted to see you back for. Test results (even simple blood work) takes longer than a week to hear back, even then I have to call and be placed on hold then told I'll be called back because no one knows what's going on. The office manager is a joke, billing office over charges and I have to unnecessarilly fight with them. Wait time is almost always 45min. RUN. RUN FAST!

My grand daughter and I have been patients of Dr. Pomilla Kumer for several years. We both think she is wonderful. I don't understand some reviews saying her staff is rude, etc. They have all been professional and understanding with us. I understand there were some issues with her husband but that was several years ago and I have no idea of the situation. I would be upset to have to find another doctor so I hope she is around for a while (she is about my age). I am a cancer survivor and she got me through a lot of rough days. My grand daughter is now 18 and pregnant and I am sure she will keep seeing Dr. Kumar and use her as her pediatrician.

Dr. Kumar is our family doctor. She is always very good with my kids and spends time with us to find out the problems and get everything. You wait a while but it's worth it to have a doctor that cares and will take the time to listen. The nurses are great. The billing dept has made some errors and that would be our only complaint,

I'm planning to clear up my account with the Kumars and seek a new physician. I am tired of being treated like trash by the receptionist and waiting over almost an hour after arriving for my appointment. I understand appointments don't necessarily run on time but a 45 minute delay without explanation is ridiculous.

Find a different doctor FAST!

I have been taking my children to Bettendorf Peds/family practice since 1998 never once have i had 1 problem with Dr.kumar or staff..I was over billed twice and just called the office and got the issue resolved..

a doctor should never tell a concerned parent that the parent is wasting her time and also cant medically explain why she has put your child on medication.....absolutely unprofessional

-TERRIBLE-AVOID AT ALL COSTS-Charges you for things you don't go in for so that insurance doesn't cover it.-Doesn't spend more than 5 minutes with you and doesn't care what you have to say-Staff is nothing but rude. They tell you one thing and do something completely else.
