Dr. Pompeyo Cesar Chavez, MD

Dr Chavez has been my PCP for several years. Even sent him Shari's Berries two years ago for his 40th b'day. Saw him Monday with lingering case of diverticulitis, which had "grown" from diverticulosis. He advised diet of bland foods, prescribed $37/month probiotics. By Thursday, "loose sphincter" was no better. Couldn't stand very long without "leakage." Sent three portal messages, left two phone messages seeking something to "dry up" the problem. As of end of business Friday, had heard nothing. We had tickets to theater Saturday night. Gave them to friends, who were thrilled by the unexpected gift. Meanwhile I continue to put small towel in waistband of underwear in lieu of real adult diaper. Not having heard anything from him is MOST disappointing. And here I sit....

Dr. Chavez's PA, Olivia Blankinship, refused to refill a prescription that is dangerous to just get off of right away b/c I hadn't been in. I offered to come in on my next day off, but she was completely unconcerned and rude. She knows that you cannot just stop the medication all at once, and I had been without for four days. I will never go back.

Had a pleasant experience with my visit. Staff was courteous despite being a busy day. My visit did not feel rushed and doctor had excellent bedside manners and helped me appropriately with my concerns.

The second visit I had the worst treatment I was told the doctor couldn't see me because he was booked and I had called 2x to talk to the nurse and the girl at the front desk told me that the nurse had 24 hours to call me and I was told to go to the ER if it was that bad. I told them that the ER would tell me it wasn't an emergency and the lady its ok they'll want to take your money. So, I was sent on my way with a prescription sample for my pain and was told to come the next day or go to the ER. Then I find out that they called a person that works at my job to tell them about the encounter. That was violating their confidentiality agreement and it was so unprofessional and disrespectful and they made it seem like I was a rude person.
