Dr. Poonam Jha, MD

Dr. Jha treated my two sons for depression and anxiety for many years. She diagnosed them properly, helped us make treatment decisions, and adjusted treatment until it worked. She is also compassionate and supportive. She's a great listener and really cares about her patients. I strongly recommend her.

Dr Jha is all about over medicating your child, My son suffered horrible side affects for years from the medication. Every time I went to tell her she would either increase his medication or switch it. Well I finally wised up and switched Doctors, took my son off the meds and he is progressively doing better then he ever has, listen to your gut remember just because they are Doctors, we are the experts with our kids!!!

Overall, Dr. Jha is a very good doctor for she knows her patients well and the parents she has a general somewhat knowledge of them. Even though the child is the criteria and not the parent of evaluation, the parent should be assessed to some point when DCFS comes knocking at the door and want to know about the parent and you can't really tell them much about the parent which will lead DCFS to come to their own conclusion. I don't like the fact that a child's physican can even give a medical opinon without evaluating that child concerning a medical issue without first speaking to that child parent first. Whatever happened to patient confidentality? The HIPPA ACT is enforceable. Other than that this doctor is a great one.
